Optional Add-On Accessories

Salt Cell Cleaning Stand

This cleaning stand simplifies cell cleaning and eliminates having to soak the cell in a bucket of muriatic acid solution. This Cleaning stand is used for PureLine Crystal Pure salt cells. You should clean your salt cell every 2 months to avoid calcium build up on your salt cell. By cleaning your salt cell regularly you will prolong the life of the cell. Also if you get too much calcium build up on the salt cell then the system will stop producing chlorine, regular cleanings ensure that your salt system will not stop producing chlorine.

Salt Test Strips

Salt Test Strips are used to accurately measure the salt level in your pool. The Crystal Pure Salt System does measure and give salt readout levels on the power supply however it is nice to have salt test strips upon startup of your Salt System. During startup up you will use your test strips to make sure that you add the correct amount of salt to your pool, it is also good to be able to compare the salt readings on the power supply to those of the salt test strips to make sure the system is giving accurate salt readings.

Straight Pipe Place Holder - Dummy Cell

This straight pipe holder also called a dummy cell is used for several scenarios which we have listed below.

Winter: It is suggested that in areas of the country that you close your pool for the winter that you replace your normal cell with this dummy cell, the reason being is that the standard cell is expensive and by removing the standard cell you will prolong the cell's life.

Cell Cleaning: When you remove your normal cell for cleaning it is nice to have the dummy cell as you can replace the normal cell with the dummy cell so you continue to filter your pool while you clean your cell.

Spring Start-Up: The dummy cell is great to use during spring start up as quite often the pool can be quite dirty and you don't want large dirt and debris to get lodged in your standard salt cell.

How do do I go from DE filter to salt ?

A  Answered on 5/20/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Nothing special needs to be done in regards to your D.E filter. Your D.E filter would stay in place as that is the device which filters the debris out of the water. The salt system is a device which manufacturers chlorine to sanitize the pool. The D.E. filter and salt system serve two separate functions.

We have a 10,000 gallon inground and would like to switch to salt water. I have purchased all my new motors from you and have been satisfied so far. Was wondering what I need to switch. Our pump is a Hayward pro series sand filter approved for fresh or salt water . S210T

A  Answered on 5/17/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Amber, This PL7708 PureLine Crystal Pure Salt System would really be the main item you need. You will require salt which you can purchase at your local hardware store, for a 10,000-gallon pool you will need about 8 bags at approximately $8 per bag. For startup it would be helpful to have some Salt Test Strips We also carry this Salt System Accessory Kit which includes a stand for cleaning your salt cell, salt test strips and a winter dummy cell. You can read about the purpose of each of these accessories through this link Salt System Accessory Kit. These accessories are not mandatory just optional add on accessories which might come in handy.

Good day, based on your measurements we came up with Estimated Number of Gallons = 22979 so you would want to go to the Pool Salt System 40,000 Gallons LT - PL7709

I am looking at the PL7708 what is the shipping cost to the UK, or do you have a UK agent. We are an electronics company in the UK have you considered an agent in the UK?

A  Answered on 4/30/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Ken, would you need the voltage on this to be 240 50 HZ for European use? Also would you be hardwiring the power center or would you want a plug? If you supply your city, postal code then we can reply back with a freight quote. We do not currently have an agent in the UK.

What is the difference between PL7701 and PL 7708 for $50 difference?

A  Answered on 4/28/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi. The PL7701 system has a 2 year warranty and the cell life is 7,000 hours and the PL7708 system has a 1 year warranty and the cell life is 5,000 hours.

?     Asked on 4/26/2019 by Sue

I am considering the PL7708, I have 1 1/2" piping and limited space on the return line. Will this work with my pipe size and can the cell be mounted vertically? My pool is 18,200 gallons this model should be ample correct?

A  Answered on 4/27/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Sue, Yes this cell can be used with 1.5" pipe and the system includes these adapters, also the cell can be mounted vertically. Yes, this system will work on an 18,000-gallon pool. If your pocketbook can afford it then we always suggest oversizing to the 40,000 gallon Crystal Pure Salt System as you will get longer life out of your salt cell and the larger cell will really allow you to crank up the chlorine production if you ever get into a demanding situation like an algae bloom. With this being said the 20,000-gallon system still would be sufficient.

Is this the only thing I need to convert my chorine pool to a salt water pool. What will I save in chemicals and how often do I need to had in chemicals, especially if I am gone for two months.

A  Answered on 4/15/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi, Yes this is all you will need to convert your pool to salt minus the salt itself. The PL7708 will be creating all of your chlorine needs so whatever you were spending in Chlorine will be your chemical savings as you will no longer need to purchase chlorine tablets, liquid chlorine or shock. You will need to keep your pH and CYA within proper levels, the pH is normally adjusted every few weeks with muriatic acid and your CYA is adjusted every few months with Stabilizer.

I'm looking to replace my Pentair IC 20 system will the cell from these units screw in using the same unions or will some plumbing work need to be done?

A  Answered on 3/25/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi Scott, This cell does come with various unions and it will accommodate the Pentair unions however the cell length is different so there will be some minor re-plumbing. We do have the PureLine Crystal Pure Max Salt Chlorinator which has the exact same cell dimensions as the Pentair Intellichlor which would mean no re-plumbing if you go with the PureLine Crystal Pure Max Salt Chlorinator.

Thanks for the response. How much are the replacement cells for the PureLine Crystal Pure should a cell ever fail? Thank you.

    • Commented on 3/30/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Scott. The replacement cells start at $249.99.

      • Commented on 3/31/2019 by Product Owner

Thank you. I currently have the Pentair IC20. I think I'll be replacing it with the Pureline 40,000 gallon unit ONce I verify that the cell for my Pentair needs to be replaced. It looks like for the cost of just the Pentair cell, I can replace the entire unit with a larger Pureline.

My above ground 15X30 Ester Williams pool is12000 gal., with a Hayward chlorinator, pump and DE filter. My skimmer goes directly to the pump and filter, filter goes to the chlorinator and to the pool inlet. Where do the parts for the salt water system get placed? How is the Salt added? Do I keep the chlorinator? How much salt do I need to start up a salt system and how much for a season? (Late May to early Sept). Can you include a diagram in your response? Thanks, John

A  Answered on 2/26/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, John. The Controller is mounted on the wall, the cell and flow switch will be installed after the filter. The salt is added directly to the pool's water. This system will eliminate your chlorinator. Check out our How To Install a Crystal Pure Salt Chlorine Generator guide.

You stated that the PL7708 cell life is 5,000 hours of operation. I was considering replacing my current unit with a new one from your company. Resuding on the gulf coast of Florida I run my pool filter (19,000 gallon) app.10 hours per day. This particular unit would have to be replaced in 1 1/2 years, correct?

A  Answered on 1/14/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Dan. Your calculation is correct. If you go with the 40K system it will be more effective and will last longer.

What is the output in grams per hour of each model? Should you have any consideration on the max gallon capacity of each model according to climate (tropical weather)?

A  Answered on 11/16/2018 by PureLine

Hi Julio, The 20,000 Gallon systems will output 1.06 lbs. (480 grams) of chlorine per day, The 40,000 Gallon systems will output 2.1 lbs. (952 grams) of chlorine per day and The 60,000 Gallon systems will output 3.18 lbs. (1,442 grams) of chlorine per day. For more tropical climates we would suggest upgrading to a larger model as this will give you the extra chlorine production if you ever need it.

Hi, John. You can manually balance the pH level or install a separate system that will monitor and adjust the pH level. This system is unable to automatically the pH level.
