My pump is not priming even after cleaning impeller. Will purchasing this kit aid in fixing that problem?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/15/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The seal kit can help with loss of prime. I can't guarantee that it will solve your problem. The loss of prime could be from an air leak at the valves or plumbing in front of the pump.

Is this the correct kit for the SQ1102 motor ??
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/11/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alan M.

This is the correct seal kit for the Max-E-Pro pump, but the motor information does not identify which seal kit you would need. You will need to identify the pump you have in order to verify the correct seal kit.

Which is the right seal kit / tune up kit for motor # USQ1252?

So in order to locate the correct seal kit we would need to know the model name or number of the front pump housing that the motor is bolted to. If you cannot locate that you can always send us pictures of that housing to upload@inyopools.com so we can identify that for you.

Hi. I'm replacing the motor on my in ground pool's pump. The pump is a STA-RITE P6E6F-207L, I think, but I can't tell for sure of the last character is an "L". What do I need besides the motor?

Hi. The last character is an "L" which is Model P6E6F-207L. You will need the Century B2842 Motor along with this  Tune Up Kit - GOKIT79 if it was manufactured prior to February 2015.

Hi, Keith. This kit consist of the pump seals, it sounds like the motor bearings are failing. You will need to replace those bearings or the motor.

How do you tell if your Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro is pre februrary 2015 or not? I bought the house in 2017 and it was already installed. I don't see a year on it. My motor started making a terrible noise. Water had been dripping from the band clamp area for about a week prior to it making the noise. I suspect I need a new motor and the tune up kit to replace the orings/gaskets.

A  Answered on 11/7/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, J. The pump has a service tag with the model, serial and the manufacturing date on it. If that tag is no longer on the pump, then you will need to check the Housing Gasket. The older models use a round o-ring and newer models use a square ring.

We unfortunately, currently, do not carry a Sta-Rite Max E Pro tune-up kit for this model so you would need to purchase the heavy-duty shaft seal separately being part number 5250-235 that you can view by clicking here

Pool pump model P2RA5E. Need a go kit or the ceramic seal for seal plate. I got a go kit but the shaft seal is too big.

A  Answered on 4/26/2021 by InyoPools Product Specialist Robert M.

The P2RA5E is a Sta-Rite Dura-Glas pump. If there is a copper or stainless steel cone in your seal plate, you have the pre 1998 model and need GOKIT6. If there is not a cone in the seal plate, you have a 1998-current model and need GOKIT54.

A  Answered on 5/21/2021 by InyoPools Product Specialist Craig C.

Hello Wendell.  If the pool pump is making a loud noise while running the cause is probably the motor bearings.  The correct replacement bearing is dependant on the motor manufacturer/model number and not the pump's model number.  While the information you provided indicates that your pump is a Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro model P6RA6E, it does not precisely identify the manufacturer/model of the motor itself.  I have attached a brief tutorial that reviews how to replace various parts of an electric pool pump motor.  If this project is not something you wish to address, a motor repair shop can accomplish this task or, as another solution, replace the motor itself.   How To Replace the Bearings in a Pool Pump Motor - Part

Hello Randy.  Changing the Seal Plate Gasket is a good first step.  Seal Plate Gasket (February 2015-Current) - 357099Z   A careful inspection of the wet end (Tank Body Assembly) around the connection's circumference should be conducted to ensure there are no cracks in the assembly that may continue to leak even after replacing the seal plate gasket, requiring tank body replacement.  Tank Body Assembly - 17307-0110S  Attached please find an exploded parts diagram for the Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro Pump for reference.  Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro Pump
