How many feet of hose come with this cleaner and how do I determine if I need extra hose?

This cleaner comes with 32' of hose, the hoses come in 4' sections. A simple rule of thumb is to measure from the skimmer (or dedicated suction line) to the farthest point in the pool then add two (2) extra hose lengths. I have an inground molded fiberglass pool in an irregular shape, close to being an hourglass shape? It is 6 1/2 feet deep in the deepest end and also has a narrow shelf running around the deeper end will this cleaner work in my pool?

Hello Katy - I would not recommend the model 900 for your pool. We would recommend the Hayward Blu. The Blu cleaner comes with shoes for a concrete surface. You could order the fiberglass shoes separately.

We have an Intex 32' x 16' x 54" saltwater pool. Will Wanda the Whale work in our pool? Also, does Diver Dave come with that or is that separate?

Hi Ginger, The Hayward Wanda the Whale Automatic Pool Cleaner will work in your pool as long as you have enough suction power to operate the cleaner. It needs at least 32 GPM of water flow to operate. The Hayward Diver Dave Automatic Pool Cleaner is sold separately.

The review said that the whale vacuum only last one season. Is this a fact? Do they have to be replaced every year. That could get expensive

I have Wanda the whale. Her black ring fell off while cleaning the pool. Hoe do I reattach it? Also, her tail has never stayed on, I don't think this is critical, is it? I've only had Wanda about a month.

Hi Jennifer, The ring simply snaps onto the base roller. The tail is not crucial but that too clips into the body.

Hi Mary, You can try cleaning out your filter or taking the unit to be inspected at your local pool store. Something could be wrong internally.

i just set up an intex 18 foot diameter pool with 2 intakes how do i connect to the installed intake. do i have to remove and install your connector and if i do how do i do that without letting water out.

It is very common place to connect the vacuum cleaner through the skimmer port. If you have another suction port, you would need to use an adapter on that port to connect the vacuum hose. Intex pools are not always the most ideal pools to connect automatic vacuums and you may need to contact them direct if you have additional questions. Please do not remove any connections that may result in the loss of water unless instructed by Intex.

Unfortunately, Wanda the Whale is designed only for vinyl lined pools. If you would like a similar product for an in-ground concrete finish pool, I would suggest the Hayward Navigator Pro Concrete Cleaner - 925ADC.

I have a ladder in my pool and do not want to remove it when I run "Wanda. Is there a bumper guard I can purchase so that Wanda does not get tangled around the ladder?

Hello, Hayward recommends using the AXW100 ladder guard. The bag is 9"x 18" and you would fill it with sand.

Do all the above ground pool cleaners require the same amount of 32 GPM to operate correctly? We have a Sta-Rite Cristal-Flo High Rate Sand Filter, a Hayward Power Flo Matrix Pump for a 13 x 21 Splash Above Ground Pool.

Hi. Not all above ground pool cleaner requires the same amount of flow. If you have a 1 HP or higher pump, that will be sufficient to operate this cleaner.

What is the difference between the the 900 model and w3900 model?

Hi Leslie, The cleaners are the same the W3900 is the model number the cleaner which is allowed to be purchased on the internet. If you purchase the 900 model # from an online retailer then the manufacturer Hayward will not honor the manufacturer warranty.
