This pump runs on 115V power. This unit comes with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. If the pump needed repair, you would call Hayward directly and they would put you in touch with a warranty service station in your area.

Yes this comes with all the hoses and clamps needed to just hook up, the hoses are 1.5". This is a 21" sand filter which requires 250 Lbs. of sand.

When should I change the sand in my filter?

You should change the sand in your filter every 5-7 years. You can generally tell that it is time if your pool water is not as clear as it normally is or when you notice the interval between backwashes is shorter. You can use > this guide to walk you through it.

Hi Dan, this system would be more than adequate for 15' x 25' aboveground pool. This filter system could handle up to a 21' x 43' oval aboveground pool.

I can't get the top off the pump basket off. Is there a trick to this. The O ring has been greased and I can't get it to budge. Thanks for any advice.

Tom, Try using a large strap wrench to twist it off. Then clean the O-ring grooves and replace the old O-ring with a new one - lubricate.

This is referred to as an "above ground pool" filter system. I have a 16 x 32 in ground "sports" pool. (approx. 18,000 gal) It currently has an s210t system that I'm replacing. It has worked fine for years, but the tank has split and the multi port valve is leaking. Why does this say "above ground pool" system?

This is referred to as an above ground pool system because the Hayward Matrix pump is specifically designed for above ground pools. The filter can be used on either but not the pump hence making it fit for an above ground pool.

I need to replace my pool pump and filter for an above ground pool. I know it is a Hayward pump
(1.5HP) and sand filter that requires 150LBS of sand. Serial # on the sand filter is 0518185070165M. I see that you have different size and filters. One for 150lbs and 250lbs. Which pump and sand filter should I replace it with?

Hi, A bigger filter is always better so I would recommend this unit. The S210T filter requires 200 lbs of sand not 250 lbs.

I am currently using a cartridge filter and want to change to sand. I have a 3/4 hp pump. Probably borderline. I want to know what is the minimum size I should go with and should I go with a 1 hp or 1 1/2 hp. I know bigger is better but I don't want to over do it. I have approx 12,500 gallons , and I do fight algae somewhat. From what I hear the sand is much easier to deal with

Hi Richard as long as your pool is an above ground pool then for a 12,000 gallon pool I would recommend a Jacuzzi 19" Sand Filter W/ 1 HP Pump I agree that sand is pretty easy to maintain.

Hi Randy, A 1 hp pump can provide adequate water circulation for a 13,000 above ground pool. A 1.5 hp pump is more than you need but will do the job plus some.

Hi my s21ot does not have the sticker for filter backwash ext..
Just from playing with it.I face the back of the Handel away from the pressure have it dumps out water.
I rotate it to back of Handel is on top of pressure have no water dumping out and it does it thing.
On pictures I seen the filter is by the pressure have and back wash opposite direction is there something wrong with my valve?

I have a 33 ft round above ground pool. The wall is 54", I have dug out about a 26 diameter circle where they pool is about 72". I have figured the gallons are around 33,000. I'm trying to find out what size sand filter and pump I need.

Hello Lynn - The 711 number is the number of the filter valve. That valve is used on several filters. In order to recommend the correct amount of sand, we'll need to know the make and model of the filter. The model of the filter should be on the side of the tank on the filter label.

Hi. You will need to replace the Upper Handle Assembly - SPX0714BA and the Cover O-ring - SPX0714L or the Diverter w/ Spider Gasket - SPX0714CA and the O-ring With Teflon Seal - O-418-KIT. Hi, Matt. This system can filter 21,120 gallons of water in an 8 hour period with a max flow rate of 44 GPM. The E-200 system was a higher capacity system rated to filter 37,800 gallons in an 8 hour period with a max flow rate of 63 GPM.

Hi Vickie, The valve O-Ring GMX600F is correct, however, the pump lid o-ring is wrong you will need this SPX5500H Matrix Lid O-Ring and the SX160Z3 Hose is correct
