Will this fit a Hayward pro series s220t

Hi Roy, The valve used on the Hayward S220T sand filter is the SP0714T valve and this spider gasket does not work on the SP0714T valve. For the SP0714T valve the spider gasket is only available with the Diverter Assembly with Glued in Spider Gasket.

Will this gasket replace the one on a S180T valve? Thanks.

Marty - No this gasket will not work on the multiport valve, SP0714T, used on a S180T filter. For the SP0714T valve the spider gasket is only available with the Diverter Assembly with Glued in Spider Gasket. The gasket is not sold separately.

If a piece of the gasket is worn away will it cause it to leak in filter mode?
Reply
Tony, Yes, a damaged spider gasket will cause the valve to leak from the waste port while set to the filter position.

Is this glued in? I had replaced it some years back and I seem to remember being told to superglue it in, but am not sure and want to be ready for when I open her up. I have the Hayward Vari-Flo Multi-Port Valve SP0715 (was SP71) assembly (top is cracked, so I need to replace both).

Hello Al, There is no way to know definitively if your gasket is glued in or not until you begin to remove the spider gasket. If you need additional assistance, here is a link to the How to Replace a Spider Gasket on a Multiport Valve instructional video.

Will a damaged spider gasket cause sand to get into the pool?

Hello, A damaged spider gasket is not a typical cause of sand leaking into the pool. You most likely have a damaged lateral or main pipe inside the sand filter.

I have a Hayward S166T high rate sand filter and need to replace the valve seal gasket. Which one would I need.

The correct replacement gasket between the valve and the tank is O-ring, Id 6-3/4", Od 7-1/8" - 364. If you were referring to the SPIDER gasket that is inside the multiport valve and your valve model is SP0714T, then the correct replacement part is Key/seal Assembly (Diffuser w/ Gasket Glued In). The spider gasket comes glued in this diffuser.

I have an older sand filter, PAC-FAB SP-715 SAND, but when I search all I come up with is Hayward SPx715. Will the Hayward gasket fit my PAC-FAB filter valve? Also what adhesive do you recommend and what particular acetone free nail polish remover do you recommend to remove the old adhesive?
Thx

Hi Tony, The SPX0715D Gasket will fit the Pac-Fab SP-715 SAND valve. You can use the Valve Gasket Adhesive or a similar product to install the gasket.

Does the ribbed side of the gasket face up or down? Should you use a lubricant to help move from various positions such as filter or backwash?
Reply
Hello, The ribbed side of your gasket should be facing up, if you would like to watch a video on How to Replace a Spider Gasket on a Multiport Valve. I would not recommend using lubricant to help move gasket to positions.

I have a Hayward DE 4800 pool filter with a Hayward vari-flo valve. I need the spider gasket but the label is worn and I don't know which model I have. Either SP-710 or SP-715. Is the gasket the same for both?
Reply
The sp710 has 1.5" ports and the sp715 has 2" ports so yes, the spider gaskets are going to be different. What is your port size and I can provide the correct spider gasket?

This gasket is used on the Hayward SP715 and 716 series valves which are not used on the Hayward S310 filter. You will need to confirm the model of your valve. The model should be on the label of the valve itself.
