Can the heat pump be turned on and left on with a pool pump that is switched off at night with a timer? Will the heat pump sense the no flow and take care of itself? Is this an acceptable way to operate the heat pump?

Yes you can install it that way, The heat pump has a sitch that will turn off the heat pump if there is not enough water flow. If you have any further questions please feel free to reply to this email. How much lower can the ambient temperature be with this model? There is nothing in the description that explains how much more useful it is compared to the regular model.

Hi Craig, You will have to contact Hayward directly, based on the HeatPro® Heat Pumps For In-ground Pools and Spas (LITHTPRO15) all the stats and specs are the same regular model.

Hi Jacques, According to the Heat Pro Owner's Manual's error code "SH" referes to a Temperature sensor failure, you will need to contact a service company in your area.

What is the difference between low ambient and normal model?
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/7/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Brian M.

The main difference between the Low Ambient and the Normal ( according to the Hayward Tech support at 908-355-7995 ) is that the normal heat pump will only work down to 60-65 degrees, where the low ambient with continue to work down to 55 degrees.

this is just my 2nd season and I have error code OP indicating Temperature Sensor. Anyone have this problem, and how do you replace the Temp sensor?

Larry, I would recommend calling Hayward to see if this is covered under warranty. You can reach them at 908-351-5400. Unfortunately, we do not have any instructions on replacing the temp sensor.

Hello, Our heater keeps showing an error message of HI on the screen, which I looked up and it means low water flow to the filter (which I'm sure you already know). But the pressure to the filter and the pool is fine everywhere else. I'm thinking there might be a clog some where? We cleaned the filter, we don't have fountains and all the valves are open. Any suggestions on what I should check or what I should try to clear? Any information would be a big help. Thanks for your time!

Danielle, What type of filter do you have? Also, what is the HP of the pool pump?

I have an inground vinyl lined pool less then 14k gallons with a surface area of approx 460. I live in the Pacific Northwest (Southern Oregon) and am hoping to be able to pick up an extra 2-3 months for swimming. Would this be sufficient to keep the pool between 75-80, including night operation?

Hi Doug, Based on the stats you supplied I would suggest going up to the Hayward 140,000 BTU Heat Pump the larger heat pump is about $500 more, but it will do a much better job when the outside air temperature gets cooler.

What is the difference between the cylinder shaped model and the square shaped mm model???
 Reply

A  Answered on 6/23/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi. The differences are the BTU ratings and the design. The round models are only rated at 110,000 BTU and the squared units are rated from 50,000 to 140,000 BTU's.
