I would like to replace my current heater with this unit. It is supplied with propane but I will have Nat Gas next year. What is the parts cost to convert? Also, this will replace a Ray Pak P-R405A. Is the wiring basically the same?
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/26/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The Conversion kit for the 406 unit is only available for the milivolt unit and not the electronic ignition unit, you may view the conversion kit here http://www.inyopools.com/pool_parts_raypak_atmospheric_heaters.aspx (last part on the page - $125.99) This link has an explanation on the differences of electronic ignition and milivolt ignition http://www.inyopools.com/poolanswers_heaters.aspx#electonic_millivolt_ignition and if you would like to purchase the entire heater you may do so here http://www.inyopools.com/heaters_rpseries.aspx Yes this would replace the P-R405A and if you went with the electronic ignition version the wiring would be relatively the same, however if you went with the milivolt ignition there would be not wiring involved.

I've currently Zodiac 325 Btu Propane Swimming Pool heater Indoor. Will this replace the current I've have.

This would replace it and then some. You would get an extra 81000 BTUs. I would suggest checking with your propane gas company to make sure the line you have would be enough to supply the  greater requirements of the larger BTU heater.

I want to replace exactly the heater I have now and you have so many to choose from. I want to stay with Raypak. I currently have a 399,999 Natural Gas. My model number is C-R405 EN. The gas on the left of the and the inlet- outlet on the right.I see one that is millivolt and one electronic...wanting to stay with something that my pool man can just slide in place and hook up. I have an Aqualink RS4 panel inside my house to control.

Hello Mitch, The Raypak Heater 406,000 BTU NG ELE is the closest match to your current heater with out losing any BTU. The fittings should be a direct match.

 Reply

A  Answered on 8/27/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Stacey M.

Hello Danny, Depending on how much you run it is going to depend on cost, a lot of people turn there heater off when they aren't using the pool. Run time will determined how much Propane you will use. If you are wanting to have a propane line put in that is a quote needing to be done by a Gas contractor.
