Will the GRC40GH be recognized by my Hayward Aquarite control? Will the unions match up the same way?
 Reply

A  Answered on 4/9/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The GRC40GH is manufactured by CompuPool and will match the thread pattern of the pre-existing unions (the cell does not come with unions). To date we have sold quite a few of these units and have had no reports of any incompatibility issues.

Hi Donald, This PL7106 AquaRite Replacement Cell would be the cell for you as it is $399 and comes with a 2-year warranty. This cell is just as good as the Hayward original as the titanium cell blades are made from the same material supplier as the Hayward original.

Hi, Junior. The Aqua Collection Series only use the T-15 Cell based on the info I've found. If your cell has the gallon capacity size, you can also use that to determine what cell size you have.

Many suppliers of replacement cells specify that the Aqua Rite controller needs to be running software version 1.50 or higher. Does the PL7106 have any such requirement? Also, is the 2-year warranty prorated or non-prorated?

Hi, can you respond to this Hayward marketing language: "Beware of Imitations With other replacement cells, you get what you pay for: lower quality and shorter operating life. Through independent tests by the leading authority in electrolytic cells, some generic cells have been shown to have 75% less operating life than a Genuine Hayward T-CELL-15." Also, if you state that the typical cell lasts 3-5 years, why only offer a 2 year warranty?
 Reply

A  Answered on 3/5/2019 by PureLine

Hi Ben we do agree with Hayward that there are some After Market salt cell which are of very low quality. The reason being is that many manufacturers use a low quality material for the cell blades inside of the salt cell. The cell blades are what make your chlorine, when the cell blades go bad is when the salt cell needs to be replaced. The blades are titanium and then coated with a material called ruthenium. The cell blades used in the PureLine after market cell are made in the U.S.A and are made to the same quality as the Hayward blades. Other after market cells have the blades made in China and the quality is lower. The cell will last for 7,000 hours so if someone rruns the cell 24-7 365 days per year then this would be 10,000 hours per year. An average pool owner would run the system 4 hours per day at 365 days or 1,500 hours per year. This is why we have set the warranty at 2 yrs which we feel is strong compared to other salt cells.

Confirm that 1 initial cost to go to salt $1259 for 40,000 gallon pool plus some misc parts plus 2 pool start up each year you add 25 bags of #40 salt to the water or $150 additional @$6/bag/year 3 the inline salt T device replacement every 3-5 years for $579 4 year 1 = $1259 + $150 +$100 misc or $1500 ish so if I move to salt factoring the initial cost averages 500 per year for first 3 years then the replacement inline T cost $579 seems a lot

Hi, Eric. They are other advantages of switching to a salt pool, it is gentler on the eyes and skin, reduce storing and handling of unsafe chemicals, over chlorinating your pool, and softer-feeling water.

A  Answered on 7/4/2021 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Jim, Our suggestion for your sized pool is this 40,000-gallon cell. The reason being is that since it generates more chlorine you can dial it down to a lower setting thus getting longer life out of the cell compared to the T-Cell-9 also if you get into an algae bloom situation you can really crank up the chlorine production with this salt cell. Finally pretty much all of the AquaRite Power supplies accept the T-Cell-15 where not all versions of the AquaRite power supply accept the T-Cell-9.
