I need a new cell for my system. The manufacturer is Blue Essence by Hayward. T cell-5. 20,000 gallon capacity. What cell do you recommend as I have currently a Compupool cell on there now ?

A     Answered on 10/23/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Bruce. The TCELL5 - 20K Replacement Cell will be the correct replacement. You could upgrade to this TCELL15 - 40K Cell with a compatible software revision.

I am getting a flashing light saying check cell. I have high salt for a few days and have been draining and refilling a foot or so a day off of my pool and the level of salt is dropping but still high.

A     Answered on 7/18/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

If the ‘Inspect Cell’ light flashes by itself, it is an early indication that the cell life is coming to an end. Each cell is equipped with 500 operational hours and requires a manual reset once it expires. The remedy is to reset the cell by holding down the ‘Diagnostic’ button for 3-5 seconds.

So there is a number of things that can cause the check cell light to stay on. Please click here to view one of the blogs that we created for diagnosing and troubleshooting this and more on your Aquarite salt system.

Hi, I have a bioguard MS-10 control panel w/ a hayward turbo cell T-CELL-15 which is over 10 yrs. old. My control panel is working properly but my cell is generating very little chlorine even with the control panel dial turned up to 80 even 100. But u stated in your Q&A to a person who said they also have a MS-10 controller that this cell is only compatible with the Hayward salt system. So which is the correct Hayward turbo cell model I need exactly like the one I have now.

A     Answered on 7/14/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Kenny. Yes, this Replacement Cell - TCELL15 is compatible with your BioGuard MS-10 controller.

hello, I am adding an SWG to my pool this year. I currently do not have one, what else would be needed to add this to the pool. I have a Hayward control box which will support a chlorine generator.

A     Answered on 4/10/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Chris. You will need a turbo cell and the Plumbing Kit - PKIT

Had my t-cell 15 tested & it showed ok. When pump starts, salt reading is approx. 2800, but drops to about 1600 or less after run cycle done. By next day, reading is about 900. Voltage reading varies daily from 3.7-4.2 Cell is approx. 4 years old. Even though cell tested ok, does this mean it is near end of life??

A     Answered on 11/27/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Gary. The correct operating voltage should range between 22.0 – 26.0 VDC and the amp range between 3.1 – 8.0 when using a T-CELL-15. The issue could be the cell or the PC Board.

Are these units new or refurbished. What is the difference between the T15 and the GLXCE15

A     Answered on 7/12/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

These units are new. The T15 cell and the CLXCELL15 are the same cell, the model name is T15 and the part # is GLXCELL15

?     Asked on 6/30/2017 by Harold Barton

My system is currently using a T3 cell which I believe is too small. My pool is closer to 20K gallons and in SW Florida. I would like to upgrade to a T15 cell. My question is are the cells the same length and width? I have very limited space.

A     Answered on 7/2/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alex V.

Harold, What salt system do you have? The system will need to be able to see the larger cell type.

Hello Jack, any light that says "no flow" is related to your flow switch needing to be replaced.

Hi, I have a 10 year old t15 cell with A 10000-12000 gallon pool that has stopped working. What new cell can I replace it with?

A     Answered on 5/14/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi. Since the T15 cell lasted that long I would recommend that you replace it with another T15 cell.

I need to replace my T5 salt cell. Can I just upgrade to the T15 cell ? Pool is around 20,000 gallons and I think the T5 is having a hard time keeping up, The panel is a PLPlus20G. Thanks

A     Answered on 4/19/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Scott W.

Yes, if you have a 20,000 gallon pool I would recommend the T15 because the cell will not have to work as hard making it last longer.

?     Asked on 4/1/2017 by James

My pool is 12,000 gallons. I have a T 15 salt cell. I think I need to replace it. Can I use a T-3 instead since the cost is so much lower?

A     Answered on 4/3/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, James. You can replace the T-Cell 15 with the T-Cell 3 if your controller has a software revision of 1.50 or higher. Also, it is price lower but it will not last as long as the T-Cell 15 on your pool. The lower percentage that the cell run on the longer the cell will last.

?     Asked on 3/21/2017 by Kevin

I have a T-Cell-15, My pool control panel says "Pool Chlorinator 30%" "Chlorinator Off - High Salt Amps" Screen Says "Main Software Revision 2.85" "Display Software Revision 3.11" What do you suggest so that I can get my pool back to salt. Aqua Plus Control Panel.......last year it was saying "no cell power" but doesn't anymore.

A     Answered on 3/22/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Kevin. That error message indicates that the salt level in your pool is higher than normal. You would need to test your salt level to determine the actual salt level of your pool. If the salt level is higher than 3400 ppm you will need to dilute the pool by adding fresh water.

Hello Rey, You can call Hayward 800-657-2287 to talk to tech support to see if they could recalibrate anything on the salt system and determine whether you just need to adjust your system or if you need to replace the cell.

Will this work with an Aqua Logic system or only the Aqua Rite system? Is there a difference between t cell 15 and 15w?

A     Answered on 9/17/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The GLXCELL15 will work with the AquaRite, AquaLogic and ProLogic systems. Depending on the age of your system, you may want to double check yoru software revision. The difference between the 2 cell is that the GLXCELL15 has a 3 year warranty and the GLXCELL15W has only a 1 year warranty.

How do I clean the TCELL15?

A     Answered on 9/2/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

To clean the TCELL15 you will need to first use a water hose to try and hose off the scale build up. Then use a water to muriatic acid mixture of 4 to 1 to clean the plates. Always add the acid to the water. Let stand for approximately 15 minutes. You can then rinse and reinstall.

No, we do recommend applying a thin coat of lubricant to the union o-rings before threading the unions onto the new cell.

No, the GLXCELL15 does not come with a flow switch. Most of the time the flow switch does not need to be replaced as often as the salt cell.

I have an AquaRite that uses the t-cell-15. The system is 5/6 years old. Do I need a soft ware update?

A     Answered on 6/13/2009 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

No you would not need a software update, the GLXCELL15 would work fine with your system here > The GLXCELL15 comes without the flow switch which you would not require. The only time you would need a software upgrade is if you went with one of the smaller cells which just came out in 2009 if for example you tried to install a TCELL3 your software would not recognize this cell but the GLXCELL15 (TCELL15) is recognized by all versions of the software.
