John, no, the V-Green 2.7 HP Round Flange 56J Variable Speed Motor - ECM27CU does not come with a base. As long as the FR is the same as your old motor the ECM27CU should fit your existing base.

I have a Hayward Super Pump 2610x15. I believe this exact variable speed motor will work with my pump. My question is...do I need to do any upgrades to the diffuser or impeller being that my pump is 1.5hp and this one here is capable of up to 2.7hp?
 Reply

A  Answered on 9/13/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

You would need to change the impeller and diffuser if you are trying to get the full strength capacity out of the motor however that is a significant increase so more than likely you will not need that.

I have a Jandy JHPU2.5 HP single speed pump for a 1.9k Gallon pool + Spa + Cleaner+Pentair 60 DE filter, and the piping is 2". I was told the 2.5 HP is too big for my use, with the SWG system. Can I use this motor as replacement or should I consider the 1.6 HP VS V-green? I also have a Zodiac Aqualink RS8 automation. Can this motor with the automation system?

Yes, this motor would be suitable replacement for your application and in order for this motor to communicate with your automation you would need part number 2517501-001.

I need to replace an A.O. Smith RS1500 motor. I've seen from other questions that this will work. But is it worth 3 times the price in energy savings? And how hard is this ti wire in? Will I need an electrician or can I just replace motors and re-hook up the wires? Thanks for your help.
 Reply

A  Answered on 6/12/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Michael. To determine if the variable speed pump is worth the cost, you will have to calculate the Total Dynamic Head (TDH) of your pool. An electrian is not needed if you know what you're doing. You can use our How To Wire A Pool Pump guide for directions.

Can I use a ECM27SQU in place of a ECM27CU?
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/22/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Unfortunately no because the SQU has a square flange motor face and the CU model has a round motor face. The model of the front pump housing that the motor bolts to will determine the motor that is compatible.

I have a Jandy Stealth Pro SHPF2.0 Is this the right motor for it? What other components do I need to buy to do the install?
 Reply

A  Answered on 4/2/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

The variable speed motor replacement is the model ECM27SQU and if you click here you will be directed to the parts diagram for your model pump. Keys 5, 13 and 15 are the most commonly replaced seals with this pump. You will need the pump housing serial number to confirm which shaft seal you will need.

Hi, I have an old Hayward NorthStar SP4010X20NS I took out of service because a) it was screaming when turned on and b) it was an energy hog and I replaced it with a VS pump. But I have this old NorthStar on my workbench and I am considering the VS motor replacement for use as my water feature pump. Will this motor fit the NorthStar wet end ok? Any issues with doing so? And before I drop $700 on this project, is a wet-end likely to last forever? Thanks for any insight.
 Reply

A  Answered on 3/30/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, DJ. This motor will not fit the NorthStar pump housing due to the drive and the locking ring. Pump housings will not last forever. You may want to consider the Hayward TriStar VS Pump - SP3202VSP

Hi I have a Hayward SP2607X10 with a 1HP motor C48K2N143B1. The motor housing is in bad shape – I can’t decide if I need a replacement motor or motor and pump – the pump appears fine. I’m clear that I will to move to a variable speed motor for energy saving. I’m not wedded to Hayward. Will switching to a PureLine PL2605 pump provide me with anything different than if I went with the V-Green ECM27CU motor and stayed with the existing pump? Thanks, Lee.
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/3/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Stacey M.

Hello Lee, For a brand new SP2607X10 it would be 419.00, now for the motor would be 129.99, then the seal kit would be 37.95, and the housing would be 189.99 so if you are looking at all vs the whole pump; I would go with full pump.  You would be replacing the motor, seals, housing. Still if the housing is the problem then that is just 189.99.

3 questions, I think: 1) Can this motor replace the AO Smith SK1152? (1.5 HP) I don't see a compatibility list, or I missed it while searching. 2) Can you point all of us to a guide to choosing between the 2.7 and 1.65 HP versions--maybe a GPM rating or something of that sort. 3) Do you carry a pump/motor combo that uses this motor? If it doesn't fit my pump, I think I want this motor anyway. Thanks!

A  Answered on 5/30/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi James, This motor will not replace the SK1152 motor because the SK1152 shaft is keyed. The 2.7 motor has higher total hp and an interface with additional features. We have the PureLine PL2606 and the Jacuzzi 94026140 pumps that uses this motor.
