What do i put my sand filter on? backwash or filter when using this product.

The Hayward Aquabug 500 would require your pool be in filter when want it to clean. If you put it on backwash it will let the water out of your pool and if left unattended could drain the pool.

How long will it take to completely clean a 28' round pool?

Tom, The length of time it will take to clean greatly depends on how dirty the pool is and the strength of the pump and filter. I would say on relatively clean pool , 2-6 hours.

Pros: everything. I just love it.
Cons: it was 3 attachment hoses too short for my 33foot pool, expensive pieces but still very much worth it
this is a 20/20 for the money. I love it. It saves work and time ...easy hook up ...it cleans the bottom people, it even picked up a framing nail that had bounced off of a shooting framing gun into the pool without us knowing. just saved me a whole new liner. i cant say i love it enough. buy it forsure go ahead, dont delay. it is worth it for the money even if you use it one season....now I hope it lasts more than that. i am sure it will

Overall it works pretty good - you just have to watch your filter as the cleaner will stop when it is dirty and needs to be cleaned out

I just got this, but disappointed. It does not work well with my 1000gph above ground pool pump. I'm not ready to shell out for a new pump, so since I can't return it here since I opened the box, its off to ebay.

Pros: easy to use, easy to order replacement parts
Cons: not enough hose for longer above ground pools in order for it to work correctly.
I wore my first one of these out, ordered more hose and now am ordering a 2nd one. It doesn't come with quite enough hose, but with what comes with it and what I already have, we should be fine. Also replacement parts were easy to get like the feet and the flappers.

It stops at the wall and tips up on its side. The only useful thing that we received was the hose. I wasted my money.

Cons: Have an updated skimmer.
Cute bug, but does it work. Out of the box ready. Just stick the tubes together, sink and waaa- la, She's sucking up the junk. Highly recomended for above ground pools.

Pros: Does a fast job cleaning the entire pool.
Cons: Scares the grandkids so we have to take it out when they come over to swim.
It arrived fast and went to work the same day on our pool. Works efficiently and does a great job cleaning the bottom of the entire pool. We have a deep end in our above ground pool and it doesn't get stuck in the deep end like our previous cleaner did.
