how too remove cartridge

A     Answered on 7/15/2016 by Alan M.

Removing the cartridge is quite ease. There is a star shaped knob on the top of the filter that you would need to unscrew and remove the lid. This will grant you access to the cartridge inside the filter.

I have an above ground 12'dia pool. Would I need a 25sq ft or 50sq ft coverage? Thanks, Dave

A     Answered on 6/5/2016 by Lennox H.

Hi Dave, The flow rate of your pump would determine the size filter. FYI, the bigger the filter the better.

I just need to purchase the filter element for this assembly. Can you tell me where it can be found and the proper nomenclature for this part?

You can use either the generic cartridge model being part number NFC1230 or the original manufacturer model being part number CX250RE.

Are there specs on how many microns this filter is rated at? Is there available another filter that won't allow finer particles to pass through?

A     Answered on 10/1/2014 by Patrick P.

As a rule, sand filters sift particles ranging from 20 to 40 microns in size.  Cartridge filters can sift particles as small as 10 to 20 microns in size.  DE filters can sift contaminants as small as 1 to 3 microns in size. This makes DE filtration at least five to six times more efficient than sand filtration systems.
