Hi I have a 12x24 rectangle pool. Shallowest is 4ft deepest is 6ft. I have the Hayward SP3210EE TriStar 1-HP Energy-Efficient Pool Pump. Will this filter work with my pump? Thank you.

A     Answered on 10/12/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Jeff. This filter will work only if your pump water flow output is less than 50 GPM. I would recommend using our How To: Size a Pool Filter guide to find out what size filter you will need for your pool. You can also call us at 407-834-2200 if you have any questions.

A     Answered on 7/4/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Ben. This filter can filter 33000 liters of water. However, the inlet flow rate must not exceed 50 GPM.

Will this replace a Hayward ec45 . Looking to get away from de

A     Answered on 6/29/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Nick, This would replace an EC45 but if your pocket book can afford it I would suggest something a little larger like the Hayward C751 75 Sq. Ft. Filter as you will get longer life out of your cartridges, longer times between cleaning your cartridges and you will put less stress on your pump resulting in a longer pump life.

i have a HAYWARD DE2540 filter will this filter work in replacement ?

A     Answered on 5/18/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, James. This 50 sq. ft is not a suitable replacement for a DE filter. I would recommend the Hayward Swimclear C2030 or C3030 model.

I am making a portable filter for pool service. Is this an acceptable/recommended filter to be used with a 1hp pump motor? What are the dimensions of filter?

A     Answered on 3/23/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Curtis. This filter is too small to be used with a 1HP pump for a portable filtration unit. The physical dimensions are 29-1/2"H x 10-1/2"W.

I have a 21 foot above ground pool with roughly 10300 gallons. My pump is a Hayward SP15932S Power-Flo Matrix 1-1/2-Horsepower 2-Speed Above-Ground Pool Pump which I keep mostly running on low. Would this C500 filter be adequate or not? If not, please propose adequate cartridge filter.

A     Answered on 7/26/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Scott W.

Could you give me an estimate of how from your pump is from your main drain. I'm just estimating the flow rate so I know if that filter is able to handle the flow rate from that pump.

Hi Pete, It's not worth going to a smaller filter, I would better if you switch to the C900.

I have a pool spa combo with 15000 gallons. What size cartiridge filter system do you recommend

A     Answered on 3/17/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi John, We do not have the proper info to recommend what size filter is needed for your pool. You can follow the steps in our How To: Size a Pool Filter to find out what size filter is needed for your pool.

What size pump is needed for this filter?

A     Answered on 6/24/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Brian M.

The filter is not intended to accommodate more than 50 Gallons Of  Water per minute.  A 1/2hp Hayward PowerFlo II Single Speed Pump would just be a little higher, but is the lowest I can find.

Are there specs on how many microns this filter is rated at? Is there available another filter that won't allow finer particles to pass through?

A     Answered on 10/1/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

As a rule, sand filters sift particles ranging from 20 to 40 microns in size.  Cartridge filters can sift particles as small as 10 to 20 microns in size.  DE filters can sift contaminants as small as 1 to 3 microns in size. This makes DE filtration at least five to six times more efficient than sand filtration systems.
