I previously asked if this motor will replace my flow master xp2. The model number is 06614000-5. Could this work?
Hi. Yes, this motor can be used to operate the XP2 Pump 06614000-5.
I am trying to replace my flow master XP2, 2 speed for my hot tub. Will this be compatible?
Hi, Paola. This motor can be used to operate selected Flo-Master XP2 pumps models. I can not confirm without the pump model or the motor's part or cat number.
Trying to match a magnatek 1.5 hp, 2 speed, part # 10-181327-03 type CSM, 115 volt, AMPS 12.0/3.1, rpm 3450/1725, FR R48Y, serial BU3-13 Thanks, Dan
Hi Daniel, This motor here would be the proper replacement motor for your 10-181327-03 motor.
Looking for motor bearings for the BN50 and can't seem to find them described anywhere in a parts reference.
Hello Gary, I apologize, but we don't have any listed for that type motor.
is it possible that the seal on the motor goes bad and I just have to buy a motor ? the pump is apart from the motor right?
If you are replacing the motor you will also need to replace the shaft seal. I can help you with that, I just need the model of your pump. If you do not know attach a picture of your complete pump and I will identify it for you.
can this motor's speed be varied or are the rpms fixed?
Hello, normally on a single speed motor the RPM is 3450, but for a duel it's 3450/1725. This BN50 is a duel speed motor which has 1.5hp or .25hp.
We have an AO Smuth spa motor and are looking into buying parts to fix a leak, or possibly replacing the entire motor. Current part#: 7-177803-02, FR: U48Y, Type: CDM, PH: 1, CAT: BN50, Volts: 115. Would this be the correct replacement motor? Also, are there any replacement parts available for the pump we currently have?
The BN50 is the correct replacement motor. For me to find the correct seals and gasket for your pump, I'll need to know what model your pump is that the motor goes to.
Is the BN50V1 the replacement pump for A>O> Smith century lasar 101458
Hi Kay, I was not able to cross reference the info provided to the BN50V1 motor. If you can provide additional info like the pump model, CAT, PART or MOD number I can confirm if it is.
I am getting a1 1/2 HP 2 Speed 115V Thru Bolt Motor (External Capacitor) - BN50 motor to replace a bad motor in my spa. (this is supposed to replace the bad motor: Emerson T55MWBLJ motor). The pump attached to the end of the motor is: 6500-345. Can you tell me which "tuneup" o-ring seal kit to get for this pump? Thanks, Bob
Hi Bob, We do not have a tune up kit available for the 6500-345 model pump but the Jacuzzi Shaft Seal 200 3/4" (10150209) and Cover Gasket (47025853) are the parts needed. If you need any other parts they can be found on the Jacuzzi Piranha Series Pump Parts page.
I'm looking to replace my motor for my waterway pump. I have a A.O. Smith motor HP 1.5 - .18 SPL, MODEL # PH2150-3R, CAT # BN37, PART # 7-177782-03, FR R48Y, VOLTS 115, AMPS 11.0/2.9, TWIST LOCK CORD
Hi Jeff, The BN37 motor is the correct motor for the PH2150-3R pump. The "SPL" does not reference the actual hp of the pump.
I am looking for a 50 cycle motor for my 1.5 hp Pentair Opti Flow pump.
Hello Andrea, I found the Pentair Optiflo Pump - 3/4 to 1 1/2 HP Parts breakdown. In the motor section (#15) the single speed replacement for your pump is the 1.5 H.P 230/115V Thru Bolt Motor (BN35). I was not able to find reference to any additional 50 cycle motor. (There is also a 1 1/2 HP 2 Speed 115V Thru Bolt Motor available as well part #BN50)
Hi, I have a Magnatek 7-177803-02 pool/spa motor , 2 speed, 115 v, 16.4/4.4 amps that has a broken toggle switch. Can you furnish part number, price and availability? Thanks T Nonan
Hi, We will have to know what model or p/n of the 2 Speed Toggle Switch that you have operating that motor. If you're not sure you can replace the entire cover with the 2 Speed Toggle Switch (18313301).
I'm trying to find a replacement motor for my pool pump but my model number doesn't match what you have listed as the model number. My model number begins with a C48 and yours begins with an SP. Please help.
What we have listed on our chart pages is the pump model number. The model number you have will just identify the motor. If you look on the plastic housing on the pump there should be a sticker which will have the pump model number. You can usually find this by the discharge port on the pump. Once you locate it you can choose the correct replacement motor. Be certain to change the shaft seal and gaskets as needed. You can use our >How to guide if you need help.
Why should I purchase a Tune Up Kit?
A Tune Up Kit includes all of the essential replacement seals and gaskets for the pump. The seals and gaskets should be replaced when installing a new motor on your pump. New seals will prevent the pump from leaking water or losing the prime. A Tune Up Kit will protect your motor and ensure that the pump is working efficiently.
Why do I need to purchase a new shaft seal?
We strongly recommend replacing the shaft seal. The purpose of a shaft seal is to prevent water from running down the shaft of the motor and into the motor housing. Water will damage the bearings and cause the motor to fail. A new shaft seal should be installed whenever a motor is replaced. The motor manufacturer can deny the warranty if the motor fails to due to water damage from a faulty shaft seal. To find your shaft seal you will need to visit our Pool Pump Parts Page or the Spa Pump Parts Page and select your make and model.
What is Service Factor?
Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.
Can you replace single speed pump motor with dual speed pump motor?
Yes but you can't go with a higher HP than the single speed motor. For example if you have a 1 HP single speed you cannot go with a 1.5 HP dual speed motor; you would be able to use a 1 HP dual speed motor. Customer would need to purchase a toggle switch or timer to switch from high speed to low speed.

Pros: Does what it should - well constructed.
Cons: Little bigger (about 1.5" higher) than what I replaced/the web picture is different than what I received.
The website made it easy to identify the correct replacement motor and order. The motor was a fit, form, functional replacement and worked for the application. The new motor arrived in good condition - not damaged. It was easy to install - the back end of the shaft accommodates a 7/16 wrench which can be used to tighten whatever is attached to the threaded end.
(5 out of 5 stars) It all works perfectly!
