Does everything needed to install the filter and pump come with this? For example, pipe fittins, pump-to-filter fittings & plumbing, etc.

None of the plumbing comes with this system. The system would include the pump, filter and multiport valve on Sand and DE filters (cartridge filters do not require a multiport valve). Any additional plumbing or fittings would be purchased locally at a hardware store.

How many hours per day should I run my pump?
 Reply

There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

Hi, can this pump be used with a salt water chlorinator [generator] made in South Africa by Justchlor which requires a salt level of 6000ppm by weight, yes I know most USA systems call for 3500ppm. After 27 months my pump motor bearing is whining badly and I presume the shaft seal has gone, I see Hayward has a kit with a salt shaft seal, do you stock this pump "salt ready" if this is what I need?

The SP2610X15 is a 1.5HP 230/115v single speed pump that can be used with salt water pools. The main issue with a higher salt ppm level is that the salt will corrode the rubber seals and any metals that it comes in contact with at a quicker rate. Unfortunately the pump does not come "salt ready". You would have to purchase a salt water tune up kit separately. I recommend changing the shaft seal every season with a salt water pool to prevent shaft seal failure.

I don't understand the high speed and low speed working conditions of the 2 speed pumps. Is that speed manually set or automatic adjustable?

Hello Sam - The 2-speed pump has a high/low switch on the back and it is switched manually.

Hi Rick For your pool I would suggest the PureLine Prime 1.5 HP Pump and a Hayward S244T Sand Filter this filter takes 300 lbs. of sand.

Hi, Don. If you're planning on keeping you existing pump or replacing it, we will need to know the pump model and Feet of Head of your pool in order o make sure that it provides sufficient water flow. You can use our How To Size a Pool Pump guide to calculate your pool's feet of head.

What pump and filter would you recommend for a 20000g inground oval pool. Had a 24 inch, and 1hp sand filter.

Hi, Kb. It's hard to say without knowing the TDH of your system. If you can get us that info using our How to Size a Pool Pump for Your In-Ground Pool guide or the model of your existing pump and filter we can make a recommendation.
