I need to replace my the capacitor on my 1.5HP pool pump. Do you carry the capacitor I need?

Please note that capacitors store an electric charge and should be handled with the utmost caution and care. We do not encourage handling a capacitor without any type of safety measures in place and highly recommend contacting a professional service company for repair/replacement. For those that feel comfortable changing the capacitor here's  >How to replace a pool pump capacitor. In order to match up the capacitor you will need more specifications on the capacitor. You will need to match the voltage, the MFD, whether or not the capacitor is a >run or >start type and the actual dimensions of the capacitor body.

I have an a.o. smith 2green pump CAT # b975t, part 7-177060T-05, serial number 142123M. I keep getting the overcurrent fault 7 code and the shaft moves fine, was thinking that because it makes a humming sound and then stops that it could need a new capacitor. Is this an accurate thought? If so which capacitor would I need? Thanks

Jim, The fault can not be fixed. The motor will need to be replaced per Century.

I have a Hayward Super Pump, motor number is 7-177653-03 (Century motor). Which capacitor(s) are correct for this motor?

 Reply

A  Answered on 5/21/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Matt, The correct Run Capacitor for your Motor is this 62318-307 Run Capacitor and NOT the 5270-01 capacitor listed on this page. The required Start Capacitor is this 5270-09 Start Capacitor. A humming normally means a bad run capacitor and sluggish startup means a bad start capacitor.

Based on hat number we are unable to identify the capacitor. There should be a label on the unit with ratings we can use,

There is no image however you can send that to upload@inyopools.com so we can review and further advise. Essentially we just need the motor model, part or catalog number in order to confirm.
