Step 1

SELECT SITE - You have several things to consider when deciding where to install your Above Ground pool. Choose an area that is free of underground utilitiy lines and other obsticals. Avoid overhead lines and trees. Do not place the pool too close to the house. If the pool breaks, you can have an instant flood. Also pick a level or gently sloping site. Avoid steep grades. Comply with all local and state codes.

Step 2

REMOVE SOD - Your pool cannot lay on any grass. Remove all sod within your pool's site. The best way to do this is to rent a sod cutter from a local rental center. If you do not have access to a sod cutter, you can remove the sod by hand.

Step 3

LEVEL GROUND - The ground under you pool should be leveled so there is no more than 1" difference from any point to another. The best way to measue the level of the goroud is with a transit. These can also be rented at a local rental center. If a transit is not available, use a long board andc craftman's level to establish a flat level surface. When you level the surface, remove dirt from the high areas. Do not fill the low areas because they will settle with the weight of the pool water and create an imbalance issue later.

Step 4

MARK POOL CENTER - Once you have leveled the land, measure and stake out the center of the pool.

Step 5

GO TO NEXT GUIDE - You are now ready to assemble the Strap Assemblies. Go to "How To Install an AG Oval Pool - Pt 2, Assembling the Strap Assemblies". To return to the Overview, go to "How To Assemble an Above Ground Oval Pool - Overview".
