Our vacuum stopped working. The power comes on but the vacuum doesn’t move. We took it somewhere to be looked at and they said the motor was burned up because water got to the motor. Could this be from the vacuum continuously being removed from The pool by the power cord instead of the handle?Reply

It is a possibility, but there is also a possibility it was caused by a poorly sealed joint on the motor case. Or, the cleaner could be old, and the motor just failed because it was just its time.Reply

dottie - You may have air trapped in the top of the cleaner. As you are placing the cleaner in the water, swish it back and forth to release any air trapped in the top of the cleaner. Also, there are many models of Maytronics Dolphins cleaners. Your model may be one that has floats attached to the handle. Look at this list of cleaner parts, scroll down to your Maytronic Dolphin model, and click it for a parts list. See if your model should have floats that may be missing.Reply

My dolphin flips over on its back when it climbs the walls. It doesn't seem to matter rather it has dirty or just cleaned bag. It lays there belly up running for a few minutes then shuts down.Reply

Chakka1 - See steps 6 and 7 of this guide. Stretch the cord out in a straight line and rotate/flip it left or right depending on how it's coiled until the coil is out. You might leave it in the sun for a couple of hours to bake the straight line in.Reply

Tracy - Most dolphins are made for in ground pools and are too abrasive for above ground pools. There are a couple of smaller robotic cleaners that are made for above ground pools like Pool Rover Jr. Robotic Pool Cleaner. If a robotic cleaner can be used in an above ground pool, the description will generally state that.Reply

Floating Cleaner - Generally, when your cleaner floats on top of the water, it has air trapped in the top of the cleaner. Try swishing the cleaner back and forth while you have it just under the water. This should release the trapped air.Reply

I am thrilled with the performance of my dolphin. I have had it a year. This time of year the water is very cold. We live on the west coast so we do not have snow but an occasional frost. Does the temperature of the water stop the dolphin from working? I have found that sometimes it will start to work then stop. Most of the time it will not work. I am hoping as the water warms to 65 it will then work. Has anyone had this problem?Reply

My dolphin for sum reason cuts off after running 10 mins or so. Upon resetting (turning off the power and restarting) it will run another 10 mins then shut off. Anyone knows why this is happening and how to resolve.Reply
