What is the benefit of the clear solar blanket over the blue one?

First, the clear solar blanket is thicker than the blue; the clear is 12 mil thick while the blue is 8 mil. Secondly, the clear allows the sun to pass through the blanket thus heating the water better. The blue blanket tends to absorb the heat itself so the blanket gets hot, not the water. Lastly, the clear blanket has a 5 year warranty as opposed to the 3 year warranty for the blue.

Does the solar cover come with an overlap like a winter cover does?

No, the solar cover does not come with an overlap. A solar cover is designed to sit on top of the water's surface and fits on the inside perimeter of the pool wall.

Cons: Sized to small in diameter for an 18' round pool.
Cover is not 18' diameter. It does not cover the pool wall to wall. It is good quality material however. Our old 18'solar cover not only was wall to wall coverage but actually had several inches going up the side walls when it was centered evenly. It would raise the temp of our pool water much quicker and have a higher water temp than this new one.

I searched online for a solar cover for a few months an came across this clear one... It is by far the best solar cover I ever bought.. It fits perfect an keeps the pool quite warm.. I will buy another just to have on hand and definately tell everyone I know who has a pool if they are looking for a fantastic solar cover then this clear one is the one to buy!! A+++

I did not think this would work, but it does. I have a pool thermomater and I check it every day. The solar blanket made a 10 degree difference in my pool temperature. My pool is in the shade half the day, and it still keeps it warm. love it

This is the best thing i have bought for my pool. I do not need a heater now. My pool was 69 to 72 degrees without this cover which is too cold, but now my pool is 80 to 85 degrees depending on the temp out side and how much sun we have.

This cover is well worth the price. Nice quality and works great. Gives the pool 2-4 degrees a day with only 4 hours of sun and spring temps in the 70's. Delivered to my house in only two days. Great service!

I saw and ordered this product at the same time I was ordering a filter basket. In the past, I'd used and replaced the blue solar covers, but wasn't really that happy with them. This cover is quite impressive, as the pool water increased in temperature by about 6 degrees in one day. It wasn't even that hot outside. FYI, I have an above ground 18' pool.

This product arrived quickly. The solar blanket was well made and very sturdy. We have been able to keep our pool comfortable, which is difficult during the Maine spring. We are entering our third summer with our INYO pool and we love it.
