does this strainer have a flutter valve to stop back flow? Is there a back flow available>

Hi, The Hayward Power Flo Strainer Housing does not have a flutter valve. You can install a Check Valve to prevent lost of prime or back flow.

Hi Jeff, The OEM Lid and O-Ring is SPX1500D2A and the Generic Lid & O-Ring is 25306-000-020

This pump housing is not a part of the Vari-flo valve. In some cases, one may be plumbed to other if that is what you are referring to.
