What can the Lockout feature do?
The Hayward EcoStar Variable Speed Pump with Lockout feature has all the same great features as the standard Ecostar pump but with the added lockout feature. The lockout feature allows for password protection of configuration menus to prevent unauthorized access to timer or speed settings, this is a great feature for commercial pools, rental properties or for those with young children.

My pool was fitted with 1 1/2 inch piping but the new high efficiency pumps call for 2" piping. Can I still use one of these newer pumps and obtain the energy efficiency savings?

You could use the HCP3400VSP Hayward EcoStar Variable Speed Pump with 1.5" PVC pipe. A reducer would be required and you would not be able to run the pump on its highest RPM. This is ok because most pools are not able to run the pump on its highest RPM. You would still reduce your operating costs using this pump.

My Hayward Ecostar pump had an error message "Emergency stop" check system. They told me to check the return lines and the filter. I checked the return lines/filter and turned the system off at the electrical breakers. After I turned the breakers back on the LED screen read starting up. However, the pump was not engaging. The Stop/Resume light would only turn red all others are blue when engaged.
