Can I use the CX1100RE as a replacement for the CX1200RE?

I wouldn't recommend using the CX110RE in place of the CX1200RE. The CX1100RE has a smaller square footage and will affect filtration efficiency.

I have a Hayward Star Clear 1100 filter. Purchased years ago. The cartridge says C-1100 O-E. I do not see OE, but on the CX1100RE is says the cartridge is OEM. Will this work in my filter? It is for 100 sq ft, and seems like the right one, but I am not sure

Hi Jean, This CX1100RE is the OEM replacement cartridge for the Hayward Star Clear 1100 filter.

As a pool owner now, going on 27-years, I have realized that the Quality of the cartridge filter, Does make a difference. Yes, they all claim to Be the Same. Not sure about that. When replacing your C-1100 pool filter cartridge, I would recommend asking for Hayward by name. Keep in mind, that the Size of your cartridge is typically posted on the outside of your filter housing. Ask your pool professional - if you are not sure. (No tools are usually needed to open your filter housing; pull out your filter and replace with the Hayward Star Clear C-1100 cartridge)

Pros: Filter medium is excellent for removing green algea

Cons: none

I have tried other generic filter cartridges but they are very weak. This is the only filter cartridge that works for my 65 year old 25,000 gallon pool. I will never buy any other cartridge but an original Hayward element.

This cartridge works so well the water gleams & the pressure is wonderfull my filter Hasn't worked so well in years its like brand new I would deffinatly purchase it again. Cleans easily And the water flow is much faster then it has been in years. I would rate it a ten out of ten.A must buy for your Haywood filter.
