No this will not come with the air bleed wick. That is attached to the center core of the filter. This cartridge will slip over top of the center core. If you need to replace the air bleed wick for the clean and clear filter it will be part # 4652-04A.

I just bought a house with a pool. It has a Pentair clean & clear cartridge filter, and the model "CC150" is punched on the label which indicates it takes a R173216 cartridge. However, the cartridge thats in it now is so much taller than the housing that I have to push the cartridge down over 6" to get the lid to seal. Is it normal to compress the cartridge several inches in order to get the lid on?

Hi, Evan. Compressing the cartridge is not something that has to be done. The lid should just be placed over the cartridge allowing the locking ring to seal the two halves. Check out the Pentair Clean and Clear Owners Manual for instructions.

I am having the same issue as stated before. The rings around the pleats do not stay attached. I’ve been through several filters. You mentioned it can be changed to a non DE type. Exactly which filter do I order and is not adding DE the only thing we need to change doing as far as pool maintence. Can I have the part # of the new filter you mentioned. Thanks
