I need a replacement basket for the Pentair 347917 pump. You list a metal basket and plastic. Besides price, what is the difference.

The stainless steel one is the original manufacturer design and the plastic coated one is a generic aftermarket model.

Cons: Expensive, not welded well, lasts less than 1 year
Purchased c series basket in October of 2012 and then had to replace it by end of August 2013. The top of the basket which is connect to the handle, was completely unattached as well as the 3/4 of the bottom and the entire side where they are welded. The other c-series basket that I had in my commercial spa jet sprayer, lasted about 1 year. It developed rust on the welded areas and eventually within 1 year.
