is this the whole unit its hard to tell pg2000 pentair do i need anything else or is this the complete unit i had one but no longer works and looking to replace the whole thing.

Hi, Stella. This the just the replacement body of the PG2000 unit. The complete PG2000 unit is no longer available, You can use the Fiberstar Lifetime Illuminator - Metal Halide - 6004 as a replacement.

If I replace a Pentair Fiber works PG2000 model #840242 is this something that I can just unhook the old light and hook up the new light or will I need a professional?

Hi, Michelle. This is just the replacement Outer Body for the PG2000 system. To replace you will have to remove the screws then lift the Body off the unit, reverse steps to install.
