I ave a c12002 cartridge filter that I no longer use. can I order this D.e. Collector Bag Assembly (cx1100db) and put it in my C12002 filter to convert it into a DE Separation tank?

Frank, Unfortunately, I do not show that this part will fit a C12002 filter.

I have a Hayward CX900DB filter unit with a C1100DB bag (no 'X" in the part #) that has torn after about 8 years of use. Can I just replace the bag or do I need to purchase the whole assembly?

You would need to purchase the whole assembly. The bag is not sold separately
