Reverse flow flapper assembly for Jacuzzi Magnum pump strainer basket. The old Jacuzzi part number was 43303601R; this has been replaced by the newer number 16113510R.
Never had a flapper in my pump. What exactly does it do and how necessary is it? I am planning to rebuild my pump and discovered it while looking through the parts list.

Hello Roy. Jacuzzi , as far as I have seen, is the only ones with this flap. I see its purpose as a way to keep debris from going back the line toward the pool when the pump is off. I have never heard of anyone complaining that a basket without a flap is any less effective.

My JACUZZI Magnum Plus basket flapper was exactly what I needed. My old flapper that I had to replace was worn out by normal usage and it just fell off from my pump basket. So I ordered the INYOPOOLS.COM product and I was able to install it by simply pushing the attached rubber connectors to the basket and it was ready to go.
