I have an old Laguna multiport valve setup and I am in the process of replacing the laterals...Do to vents on the laterals point down or up on installation.. I have gotten two different answers from friends and family, so I thought I'd ask the experts..

The slats on the laterals point up. Here is a good Video on How to Replace Sand Filter Laterals which you may find helpful.
