The body has a slightly flat top on it so it’s a bit less top to bottom. 6-9/16" is the diameter – going side to side you get the actual diameter 6-1/4" bottom to top – this is measured on the front cover 7-1/16" bottom to the top of the discharge port The flat section on the top of the body is just under 3" long.
How do you remove this piece from the motor?

Once you take the bolts off of the front of this wet end, you would have to unscrew the impeller then you will be able to remove this completely.
