Product Description

PureLine Crystal Pure & AquaRite Cell Cleaning Stand

Salt Cell Cleaning Stand for AquaRite® Turbo Cells and PureLine® Crystal Pure

Model #: PL7110

Keeping your pool’s salt chlorine generator in top condition is essential for clear water and consistent sanitation. The PureLine® Salt Cell Cleaning Stand is designed to make this task easier, safer, and more effective than traditional methods. Instead of awkwardly balancing a cell in a bucket of acid, this stand threads directly onto your cell, creating a stable, upright cleaning position. The result is a fast, mess-free way to remove calcium and scale buildup that can reduce chlorine output and shorten the life of your equipment.

Why Use a Cleaning Stand?

Salt cells naturally accumulate calcium deposits over time, especially in areas with hard water. If left untreated, this buildup restricts water flow, reduces chlorine production, and may cause system errors or shutdowns. Traditional cleaning often involves submerging the cell in a bucket of muriatic acid—a method that can be messy, wasteful, and unsafe.

The PureLine® Cleaning Stand provides a better alternative. By securing the cell upright, you can use less acid, reduce direct handling, and protect surrounding surfaces from accidental splashes. This simple tool not only makes maintenance easier but also extends the life of your investment.

Key Benefits

Quick & Easy Cleaning

  • Thread-on design allows you to attach your cell directly to the stand in seconds.

  • Eliminates the need for balancing or makeshift setups.

  • Cleaning process is faster, safer, and more consistent.

Extends Cell Life

  • Regular cleaning every 2–3 months helps prevent scale buildup on the plates.

  • Keeping plates free of deposits maintains chlorine output and reduces stress on your system.

  • By minimizing damage from acid overexposure, you protect the long-term efficiency of your cell.

Reduces Downtime

  • Prevents unexpected system shutdowns caused by clogged or scaled cells.

  • Ensures uninterrupted chlorine generation during peak swim season.

Durable Construction

  • Built from sturdy, chemical-resistant materials.

  • Designed to withstand repeated exposure to cleaning solutions and outdoor storage.

  • Provides long-term reliability for repeated use.

Compatibility

The PureLine® Salt Cell Cleaning Stand is compatible with many popular salt chlorine generator systems, including:

  • Hayward® AquaRite® and AquaTrol®

  • Goldline® Turbo Cells

How does this clean salt cell? Do You pour acid into the stand? Thanks

Hello Mary - That is correct, in a way. You would screw the cell onto the stand. You would then pour a mixture of water and acid. A ratio of 3 parts water and 1 part acid is the best to start. You would then let site for about 10 - 15 minutes, pour out the mixture and unscrew and spray out with a garden hose. If you click HERE , you can see a video detailing the process.

Turbocell cap stand works great however, when I remove the Turbocell for cleaning, my pool drains from the return pipe and there is no shutoff valve on this end of the return system. Is there a threaded plug I can purchase to stop the pool from backflushing while cleaning my turbocell? If so, please advise where I can get one.

Hi, Steve. You can purchase the Turbo Cell Placeholder - GLX-CELL-PIPE to resolve the issue that you're having when cleaning the cell.

This is totally embarrassing. After cleaning my cell, I can't remember which way to hook it back up. It would be nice if it had an arrow for the direction of the flow. Once you tell me, then I will draw an arrow on with a Sharpie. Just tell me if the cord is on the right as the water flows right to left? Thanks.

Hi, Marilyn. The Turbo Cell can be installed in either direction.

Using the stand is much easier than using a larger container to hold the cell & vinegar solution.

Salt generator maintenance

Written on 9/9/2019 by Guest

Salt pools, while they feel a lot nicer; the salt generator needs maintenance (like most of the pool equipment).

The salt cell breaks down salt, separating the chloride from the sodium, and converting the chloride into a form of chlorine that will keep the pool clean (similar to how chlorine tablets do).

The problem is... this electrical process causes deposits of minerals on the salt generator. The solution is to clean the salt generator, once or twice a year, depending on how long your swim season goes.

Cleaning is simple:
*Turn off the pump and salt generator power (better at the circuit breaker)

*Turn off the power switch in the salt generator panel and remove the salt generator module wire from the salt generator panel.

*Remove the salt generator module and replace it with the dummy tube... the reason to do this is both to keep the pool water from running out and to keep the pump primed.
*Attach the salt generator module to the stand, screwing it on, with the wire at the up end.

*I prefer to use vinegar mixed with water: one to one, put the vinegar in a container and add the water.

*Pour this solution into the salt generator and let it soak for 15-20 minutes

*Rinse out the salt generator thoroughly and inspect (look inside) to see if the plates are clean. If not, repeat the soaking procedure

*When the generator module is clean, remove it from the stand

*Remove the dummy pipe and re-install the generator, connecting the wire to the salt generator panel.

*Visually check for any things that look different than when you took it apart... it is good to take a cell pic before you start, then compare it after you re-assemble.

*Turn the power back on at the breaker, leave the power switch at the salt generator panel off.

*Start the pump and let it clear the pump of air... then let the air out of the top of your filter.

*Turn the salt generator panel switch on and let it run for a day

*Test salt content in the pool and adjust the generator output.

There you go, your salt generator is now cleaned and ready to keep your pool water feeling silky and keep the water clean!

Regular cleaning will extend the life of the salt generator module, so keep it clean!
