Need to replace a broken Hayward SP1048F drain cover. The main drain I have is located in a pool side spa where there are 2 (one in the bottom and one in the wall). I see many replacement covers that have been made updated to be in compliance with the Virginia Graeme act but they do not seem to have the 2 prongs on the bottom that press down on the flapper at the bottom of the drain housing. What do we do in this case? put on the new update safety cover and remove the flapper?

i got this too, nothing is broken, but i removed cover to look for leak (not in main drain) what would be the correct cover that would fit and be able to screw in to the existing drain

Hi Mitch, the replacement main drain cover for your model will be part number WGX1048E. I have also emailed you an estimate that you can convert to an order if you would like.
