Hi, Fred. The XL Series heater would require the High Limit Assy - R0023200.

We have a Zodiac Model LRZ400EP heater and I think I need to replace the temperature sensors on the unit based on the error code "open water sensor". One of the high-limit sensors had the following alpha-numeric characters: 21778 L130-15F E02655 A1022 36T01

Hi Paul, Yes this would be the correct high limit for the LRZ400EP

Per Zodiac you need to replace the temp sensor, which is part # R0456500, the R0457200 are the high limits.
