Will by hoses attached to my pool fit this pump and filter? Are all the Hayward pumps and filters have standard size hose attachments.

Hi, Kim. This system does include (2) 6' Hose which will be used to connect the pool skimmer to the pump and the filter to the pool.

Hello - this is a cartridge system, so it does not require backwashing but only to be sprayed off for cleaning.Here is a guide: How To Clean a Pool Cartridge Filter

Why is my filter blowing out water when I release the valve on top to let air out?

Hi, Cynthia. That happens when there is no air pocket in the filter, the tank is completely filled with water.
