Why is this considered a better sacrificial anode than a zinc metal disc in the skimmer? And also, why does this need to be bonded but the zinc disc in the skimmer does not need to be?

Hi. This is better because you will get the benefits of water bonding and a sacrificial anode. More info is available via the Pool Defender Brochure

Thanks for the quick response and for referring me to that informative brochure! My in-ground pool is quite new (and I watched every stage as it was being built), it already has bonding as described in the brochure you provided. It has water bonding connections on the skimmers. So, with that being in place, does the inline sacrificial anode provide any advantage to the disc being placed loose in the skimmer?
