What is the difference between an inline and offline chlorinator?

An inline chlorinator would be plumbed directly inline with the plumbing.  For an existing pool, this would mean a section of pipe would need to be cut out to install the chlorinator.  An offline chlorinator attaches to existing plumbing by chlorinator tubing (holes would be drilled into existing pipe to attach the tubing.)

Can the Powerclean Ultra chlorinator be used on a home water purification system?

I wouldn't recommend using the Powerclean Ultra chlorinator on any system that has pressure above 35 psi.

Hello Orlando.  The Custom Molded Products POWERclean In-Line Chlorinator model 25280110 is NOT recommended for Above Ground Pool applications per the manufacturer.  The Waterway ClearWater Above-Ground Pool Chlorinator model CAG004-W would be compatible.  ClearWater Above-Ground Pool Chlorinator   Please note the water flow indicator arrow visible on the picture of the chlorinator.

I wanted to add a chlorinator to my pool filter

Written on 11/22/2022 by Guest

The most difficult part of the installation was measuring the pipe lengths. Otherwise, it was straight forward. A considerable amount of time was spent on measuring and re-measuring.
1. I identified the location of the chlorinator in the pipeline going to the pool.
2. Cut the section of the pipe going to the pool where the chlorinator was to go. I also had to cut the pipe near the filter valve because I needed to adjust the routing to where the chlorinator was going.
3. Measured, cut and preassembled the pipes to ensure everything fit. Where angles were involved, I marked the pipes and fittings to ensure proper alignment.
4. Applied primer and glue to the fittings put everything together. The last thing to attach was the Chlorinator because it had fittings similar to a union.
