What are the dimensions of this basket? I like the design but I do not have the Hayward SP1082 Skimmer.

The dimensions of the basket are 6 1/2" in diameter by 5" but I would like to remind you that this basket is made specifically for the Hayward SP1082 Pool Skimmer. If used with any other skimmer it may not install properly.

My current skimmer weir broke and I found it floating in the pool. While it was working I never paid attention to which way it was installed and now that I must replace it the installation of the new part is confusing. Which side of their door faces the skimmer?

The smooth side goes toward the skimmer, offset to the pool. Good question because if the weir is not properly installed it will affect the operation of your pool skimmer.

What is the diameter of the top of the basket vs the bottom of the basket. I am pretty sure that I have the same one, but I want to double check. Thanks, Erin
