What is the difference between an inline and offline chlorinator?

An inline chlorinator would be plumbed directly inline with the plumbing. For an existing pool, this would mean a section of pipe would need to be cut out to install the chlorinator. An offline chlorinator attaches to existing plumbing by chlorinator tubing (holes would be drilled into existing pipe to attach the tubing.)

Which way do I turn the flow valve knob to let less chorine into the pool? Logic tells me to turn it towards the indicator that does not look like a full semi circle. It seems like it does not matter because the entire tube fills up with water and runs over all the tablets which I would assume dissolves the tablets to go into the pool.

Hi, Tracy. Turn the Dial in a clockwise rotation to open and a counter-clockwise rotation to close.
