Hi Gary, yes this cover assembly is compatible with the Jandy 7236 check valve. The 7236 is actually the cover part number.

My pool has a defective jandy anti siphon valve, but I cannot find a part number on it. It says "check valve" on it, but no part number. Would your part work on this one? The valve was installed in 2001 or 2002

Hello.  If your current Jandy check valve has a clear top, is fastened with 8 screws, then this replacement part will fit the existing check valve body regardless of the install date.  To be certain please compare the attached picture of the replacement valve cover assembly to the existing check valve.  Swimming Pool Check Valve Cover Assembly w/ Flapper & O-ring - 25830-704-800

The tabs for the Flapper assembly cracked and the o-ring was leaking

Purchased a new Cover Assembly w/ Flapper & O-ring - 25830-704-800. Removed the old assembly. Put some o-ring lube on the new o-ring. Tightened each screw lightly in a even zig zag pattern. Then went around again to each screw and firmly tightened in a zig zag pattern.
