Hi, Roman. The cartridge size and the container will depend on how many bottles you'll need. You will add 4 oz of filter cleaner to 1 gallon of water.

My filter is a Hayward Perflex EC40AC. I have had and been using that filter and related items for 20+ years. First you drain the filter and remove the clamp assembly. I put the recommended amount of the renew into a 5 gallon bucket with 4 1/2 gallons of water. I let it soak overnight agitating occasionally. Removed in the morning and sprayed off the fingers with a jet spray nozzle. They almost looked new. Re assembled and put the filter to work. Problem solved!!!

System has two filters; soaked each of them separately in a large plastic tote for 18 hours. It took more concentrate solution to fill two totes, but the results were worth it. Agitated the water, and swirled the filters around in the solution twice while soaking then rinsed. Process removed significantly more dirt/residue than spraying the filters off alone.

Read the instructions and left two cartridges soak in the mixture for 2-days because I couldn’t get to it any sooner. When I got back to the cartridges I couldn’t even see them as the water was murky with green algae (this was a problem on opening the pool after a very warm winter and hot summer). I dreaded the work ahead but, all I had to do was hose down the cartridges after removing them from the solution; no scrubbing or brushing needed. Best of all, I think I’ll be able to cycle the cleaned filter cartridges throughout the 16-20 week season without having to replace them. At nearly $100 per filter, I’m now going to be cleaning instead of replacing the filters as long as I can.

Pros: Easy to use, not too harsh a chemical, works well on paper cartridges
Cons: Need gallon size for larger filter sets.
This product worked well to take off filter contaminants. The filter pressure after use was very good and we only soaked for two hours each filter. I recommend buying enough to use in a 30 gal plastic garbage can and soak overnight with all your catridges at once, then rinse and dry.
