Product Description

In Ground Pool Salt System 40,000 Gallons POWERCLEAN® Salt Ultra 540

The POWERCLEAN Salt Ultra by CMP is the next generation salt system. Building on the technology introduced in the original POWERCLEAN Salt System, the Ultra has a built-in sensor that monitors faults due to low flow, temperature, and calcium build-up. The Ultra also includes superior, wide-set cell plates, preventing scale bridging that often reduces the cell’s life.

The POWERCLEAN Ultra is the perfect upgraded salt system for larger, inground pools. The control center is NSF certified, giving residential pool owners a commercial grade controller in their backyards

We moved into a home with a built-in pool...approximately 25 to 29,000 gallons. They were using baquafil, which I hated. We have a large older Earth filter that works well. Can I purchase this and use with my Earth filter?

Hello Tammy, yes you can use this system with any type of filter system. And would be large enough to handle your pool.

I have a 25000 gal.which one do I need?

Hi Jerry, for a 25k gallon swimming pool this 40k capacity model is what we would suggest in order to have extra capacity and not work the unit to its maximum. This will also help with the longevity of the cell.

DO THE SGS WAVE 40 SYSTEMS NEED A FLOW SENSOR?

The Wave salt-chlorine generator has its flow sensor as part of the cell itself.

do i need a filter if i switch from de system to salt water ?
 Reply

A  Answered on 11/4/2020 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Hello Hamid, when adding a salt-chlorine generator system to a swimming pool you do not need to change your filter. All pool systems should have one already present but if yours does not then here is a guide that we put together called "How To Size a Pool Filter" that should help.

Why do the specs say "Produces up to almost 1.3lbs of chlorine/day "? Isn't this a salt system?
 Reply

A  Answered on 12/3/2020 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Hi Robert, yes that is correct as salt systems generate chlorine. Here is a guide that we put together called "What Is A Salt Water Pool?" that will help to clarify this.

Does this salt cell have 1 1/2 in ports?

A  Answered on 12/3/2020 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Hi John, all of the fittings for this system are for 2 inch PVC however can be reduced if needed. Your local hardware store should carry those types of fittings.

Hi Mark, There is not an installation video on this specific unit but we do have this Video on How to Install a Salt Pool System which you may find helpful. There is this POWERCLEAN® Salt Ultra 540 Installation Manual which may help as well.

Hello. Asked this question under a different salt system, but meant to ask it here. I have an existing Jandy AquaPure FSOFT1400 SWCG system. Looking to replace it with a newer system with better functionality and lifespan. How difficult (or hopefully easy) would it be to replace my old system with a new Saltron system? Is this something I could do myself or would I need a pool tech or electrician to do the install.

The Wave Chlorinator must be installed by a qualified pool professional or certified electrician.
