What is the difference between the clear and the blue solar blanket?
 Reply

First, the clear solar blanket is thicker than the blue; the clear is 14 mil thick while the blue is 12 mil. Secondly, the clear allows the sun to pass through the blanket thus heating the water better.  The blue blanket tends to absorb the heat itself so the blanket gets hot, not the water.  Lastly, the clear blanket has a 6 year warranty as opposed to the 5 year warranty for the blue.

Are the edges on the custom solar blankets finished in any way?

No, the manufacturer does not finish or heat seal the edges on custom sized solar blankets.

Does the solar cover come with an overlap like a winter cover does?
 Reply

No, the solar cover does not come with an overlap. A solar cover is designed to sit on top of the water's surface and fits on the inside perimeter of the pool wall.

Regarding the clear heavy duty blanket, what is the difficulty of only one person handling it. What is the difficulty of getting it out of the pool?

Hi, Jim. It will be very difficult for one person to handle removing and putting on this cover on a pool.

Do you carry anything that will act as a solar cover that one person can handle. My pool is 16' x 26' plus a spa step

Hi, Jim. Only if it's on a reel system, otherwise, it will have to be done a section at a time.
