The Fiberstars FS3C illuminator has been discontinued but may be replaced by the Fiberstars 2004 illuminator or the Fiberstars 6004 iluminator Thanks for the great question.

Hi DK - The 6004 would be the replacement for any of the Fiberstars models from 1998. In the past year there has been a new LED Illuminator for Fiber Optic systems which is very bright, has a much longer lamp life and costs very little to operate.

Hi Dennis, Yes the 6004 Fiberstars Illuminator would be the replacement for the 2004 illuminator. We have a new LED Fiber Optic Illuminator which would replace the 2004 illuminator. The LED illuminator would be considered an upgrade as it outputs brighter light, costs less to operate and has a much longer lamp life. You should not need to replace your fiber when replacing your illuminator as the old cable should work.

I have had installed ( ca. 2000-2003) by previous owner on our ground pool a fiberstars Lifetime Illuminator 6000 series, Somehow working fine past 8 but totally burned out power tower due to some shortage. What will be my best choice to replace this with a new tower without replacing the fiber and light which is sealed firmly to the pool wall. Can I get the same tower? Hi Wahid, the 6004 illuminator here would be a direct replacement for your 6000 series fiber-optic illuminator. The 6004 illuminator is a 4 color illuminator meaning your lights will fade through a range of 4 colors. We also carry a new 9 Color LED Fiber Optic Illuminator which would work for you and is an upgrade to the 6004. The upgraded LED illuminator is a 9 color illuminator, the bulb lasts much longer and the cost of operation is far less.

To be sure. I have a fiberstars 2004 illumination unit that is defunct. Can I replace that unit with the much more reliable fiberstars Model #6004 (don't have AS model). Will Model #6004 connect to the #2004 optic line and the 2004 base without major problem?

Hi Gary, You can connect the existing fiber port line that you currently have to the 6004 unit, and use you the 2004 base as well.

My 6004 light went off, I discovered that the light bulb is burnt , I decided to check the voltage on the lamb base that comes from the transformer , I discovered that t is 260 volts , which kind strange since the Y20-6000 should be using 110 volts,
does it mean that the transformer is faulty , or it is ok I just have to replace the bulb assembly unit?

Hi Ahmad, This unit requires 120 volt 60 hz only, so if you're getting 260 volts then something is wrong. Consult an electrician to find out what the cause for the increase voltage.

i have an old Powerhouse Metal-Halide Illuminator which uses a Thorn ARCSTREAM 4000K 150W G12 R27. the unit works fine but the bulb is burnt out and are no longer avaialble. Will on of the Fiberstars replacement bulbs be adaptable?

Hello. I have an fs5c-r. I was having a problem with either the x10 receptacles or the x10 controller. An electrician came in, took out the outlets and wired everything together so that it was on or off by a single switch. I want to go back to the original x10 type remote, but cannot find an original wiring diagram. Can you help me with a pdf schematic or direct me to a proper source?

I have a 6004 unit. The light comes on, stays on about 10 minutes. Goes off. Comes on a minute. Goes off permanently. I checked the holes for venting and they are fine. Obviously not the bulb. Besides the fan being blocked (checking that next) what else could it be? GFI is fine.

Thanks for the quick response. The new lamp came installed in a new metal housing assembly. I just connected the wires at the plastic connection. There was power to the connector. I waited several minutes and the bulb is good but wouldn't light. I've been told that it could be the ignitor ? Can I buy this part from you ? (Fiberstar 6004)

Hi, Chris. There is not a brighter bulb available for this unit. You can try cleaning off the hot mirror if there is build up on it and re-port a new section of the cable because it may also have build up on it causing the lighting to appear dim.

so we bought a new bulb for our fiberstar 6004, we have the toggle switches set correctly, the terminals are getting power, but the bulb wont light up at all. we had it working but someone screwed with the remote, and now it dosnt work

Hi, Jacob. I would recommend rechecking the toggle switch positions, the wiring, and the input voltage if the lap is getting power and if the fan turns on. If everything checks out then it cold be the lamp or you will have to contact S.R. Smith to troubleshoot it further.

You can use the Fiberstars 6004 in place of the PG2000. You would remove the PG2000 illuminator and replace with the 6004, if you fiber is still good then you put the fiber into the Fiberstars 6004 illuminator.

Melanie, I would recommend inspecting the bulb in the illuminator that controls the perimeter lighting. It may be blown or loose.

I'd be using this to replace the old Fiberstars evenglow that has 3 fiber outlets in my pool. Would this Illuminator be the appropriate replacement? Hi, John. You can use this Lifetime Illuminator - 6004 as a replacement. It can also handle the 3 different connections as long as the total strand is less than 450. The bulb is easy to change, however, cannot to be converted to LED.

We have a 6004 installed on our pool and it seems to go out by itself after some period of time. We were trouble shooting it today, it turned on and the fan came on as it should. An hour or two later the light was out. Is there a timer or thermal cut-out that shuts it off. Once it is off, it won’t turn back on even if the light has been out for hours, unless we turn off the power switch for a while.

Hi Sandy, Yes the 6004 is a direct replacement for the 2008. The only differences are the 2008 was an 8 color Illuminator where the 6004 is a 4 color. The 2008 used an older style halogen bulb and the 6004 users a newer style metal halide bulb.
