Is it possible to replace the light housing while using the existing electric cable?

You cannot use your existing light cable.  You will need to pull the new cord through the conduit on the new light.

Yes you can. Here is a parts breakdown for the Astrolite: Hayward Astrolite Parts BreakdownFind the part that you are looking for and our item #. Then go back to our home page Inyo Pool Products and enter our item # into the search box located on the upper left hand side of the page. This will bring up the part including the price. You can then add it to your shopping cart.

Will i it fit in a 5" diameter opening in existing pool? If not what do you have that does w/ 100 ' cord?

Hi, George. This Astrolite fixture will not fit a 5" niche. I will need to know the niche model in order to locate a compatible fixture.

What is the difference between this fixture In the 12v model other than the price? Don't both of them have the same socket type.

Hi, The voltage requirements are the difference. A 12 volt fixture requires an Intermatic Transformer. Both fixtures have the same size socket base, however, not interchangeable.

My Hayward pool light fixture has gone bad and I want to replace the light, fixture and 100' wire. When I researched it using the number on the plastic ring SP 580 A I can't seem to find it listed anywhere. Has it been replaced by a newer Model with a different number? Can you tell me the number of the light fixture that will fit the niche so I can get the light in my pool working again. Thanks

Hi George, the replacement light series for your SP580 series is the Hayward Astrolite. You will need to just match the voltage and please be advised that many online retailers can no longer retail many of the Astrolite series pool lights.
