Is it possible to replace the light housing while using the existing electric cable?
Reply
You cannot use your existing light cable. You will need to pull the new cord through the conduit on the new light.

Can I buy just the stainless steel face ring for this pool light?

Yes you can. Here is a parts breakdown for the Astrolite: Hayward Astrolite Parts BreakdownFind the part that you are looking for and our item #. Then go back to our home page Inyo Pool Products and enter our item # into the search box located on the upper left hand side of the page. This will bring up the part including the price. You can then add it to your shopping cart.

is this model the same dimensions as sp- 542. I am looking to replace two lights, one with 30' cord & one with a 15' cord.
Thanks for the help

This light here is not the correct light. You would require the Hayward Duralite as a replacement for the Hayward SP542 light. The shortest cord available is 50' but the cord is designed to be cut.

I have an in ground vinyl pool 11 years old. Need to replace light fixture. It is a SP580 with thermoplastic and glass SP-450-Z-1. Will the SPO582SL30 120V-300W work?

Greg, The Hayward 300W 120V SS Face Astrolite w/ 30 Ft cord can replace your current light, however you will want to verify the voltage and watts to make sure it will match.

can I get a plastic rim?

why does the fixture have to be submerged even to briefly test the lamp? I am concerned that the lamp may get damaged during shipping and I won't know until it is installed - which by the way-- the installation is not easy. Also do you sell another brand of replacement pool lights? The frame built into the pool does fit the Hayward model but not perfectly. My pool is about 50 years old.

Hi, Tim. Due to the high wattage, heat and making sure the fixture is bonded the manufacturer recommends the light to be submerged prior to being tested. We do sell other brands of Inground Pool & Spa Lights, the niche model is needed to confirm compatibility.

I have a stainless steel housing, not sure how old. Pool is 40 years old plus. Housing opening is 8”. Little catch on bottom, screw hole on top. Any ideas on light fixture that will fit. Not seeing specs for back of new fixtures to know what will fit. Thanks.

Hi, Could you please follow the steps in this Article on How to Identify your Pool Light and then reply back to this thread with any of the identifying information from the light housing tag?
Reply
The light that was stuck in there by previous home owner is too big and does not fit. So there is no reason to identify the light. That is why I gave measurements of the housing. Thanks

Hi, is there any identifying #'s on the can/niche that is embedded into the pool wall? There are many different lights that measure around 8" but they are all not interchangeable. For example, they are different depths, have different connection points for the pilot screw, etc.. If you cannot find any markings on the can/niche that is embedded into the pool wall then please supply the depth of the can/niche.

There is no tag or identification number on the housing niche at all. There does not appear to be a bigger face ring for the niche that is missing. The opening for the niche is right at 8” across. Depth is 8 3/4”.
