Will a gas heater operate at the low speed of a dual speed motor?

Probably not - Most gas heater will shut off at low GPM levels (20-40) to keep the heater cores from overheating - 20 for 200 BTUs, 40 for 400 BTUs. Depending on your pool system you might get these GPM levels at the low speed but generally these heaters must be run at the motor's high speed.

Can you run this with a grill size propain tank? If so how long would it last and about how much does it use in an hours time. Is the heater temp adjustable?

Hi, Brian. This unit will not be able to operate using a size propane tank. This unit requires 2.5 gallons of propane an hour to operate. The thermostat is adjustable.

Good afternoon.
I had a quote to replace the heater for my spa. The quote given was for the 400,000 BTU unit. Do you feel it is necessary to use that unit or could a smaller one work? My pool also has a working solar unit.

is this heater a 50 cycle as I plan to use it in the Islands. MasterTemp Heater 250,000 BTU - LP w/ Electric Ignition Low NOx Propane gas

This heater is not a 50 cycle unit. We only carry them in 60 hz.

This is the latest Pentair Mastertemp Heater. We have not heard any stories of rodents getting into this pool heater.
