Hi Larry, The difference between three and single phase is the power connection. Three phase uses a 4 wire connection and single phase uses a 3 wire connection.

how much electricity does it use per month kilowatt hours
 Reply

A  Answered on 8/29/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alan M.

Unfortunately we do not have any way to determine the Kw per hour/month. The temperature of the water, desired temperature, cover/no cover, wind, and pool run time are all factors in determining the length of time the heater will run daily, let alone the run time per month. If it helps, here is a manual for the Pentair Ultratemp Heat Pump and if you need more technical assistance, you can call the manufacturer directly at 1-800-831-7133.

Hello I have a pool that measures 25 meters long, 20 meters wide and the average height is 2.37 meters. It has a total of 307882 gallons I would like to know which heat pump and how many BTU I need to install it in my pool. I look forward to your response. Greetings

With a pool that size you would need at least two of those UltraTemps.

Does this unit also chill the water? I live in Florida and want a unit that can chill the water during the hot summer months,
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/10/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

No, this is not a chiller model. The version of this unit with a chiller would be model 460959 which currently is a special order of about a 2-3 week lead time.

How long will it take for a pool that is 13000 gallons to go from 68 degrees to 82?
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/25/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Robert. They are several variables that you'll need to factor in like air temp, humidity, flow rate etc. It can take about approximately 12 hours or more to heat your pool to 82 degrees in good operating condition.

Hi, Now that I know it can heat both a pool and spa does it have to heat them one at a time or can it do it simultaneously? Thanks!
 Reply

A  Answered on 7/24/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Melanie. It cannot heat both the pool and spa simultaneously, it will only heat one body of water at a time.

Hi. Pentair does not have a cover for their heat pumps. You can use the Pool Heat Pump Cover - One Size Fits All - OSCS-HC for this unit.

Does the heat pump work with a variable speed pump? Also, looking at doing a heat pump and thermal panels. On the plumbing would the heat pump be before or after thermal. Appreciate the assistance.
 Reply

A  Answered on 4/30/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Gary. This heat pump is unable to control a variable speed pump. When plumbing the heat pump and solar, you will need a 3-Way diverter valve to have water flow to both heat pump and solar.

I live in Missouri and have a 17,000 gallon salt water pool. I would need a electric heat pump style, as there is no gas on site. I am interested in heat only and do not necessarily need the cool feature. What model and size unit is recommended for a pool my size in my area of the country?
 Reply

A  Answered on 12/22/2020 by InyoPools Product Specialist Joe S.

Hello Ronald, based on the information we would recommend any of the following units. Pentair Pool Products UltraTemp 140 Heat Pump 143,000 BTU - Almond, the Hayward HeatPro Heat Pump 140,000 BTU - W3HP21404T or the Raypak Classic Series Heat Pump 140,000 BTU - 016033.
