I have a 27' by 48 round pool and the pump motor is a Sta Rite JWPAS5F-2A4. Is this the pump I need to replace the one I have?

I have a crystal flo 2, 19 inch sand filter. 27 foot round 48 inch deep. Currently using an old 3/4 hp pump but not filtering good. Would this 1.5 hp pump work?

Hi Brian, Going from 3/4 HP to 1.5 Hp is a big jump. I would first find out if if the pump or filter is the problem since it is not filter good. The 19" Crystal Flo II Sand filter is sized for a 1 HP pump not a 1.5 HP.

My original pump is 10 years old and starting to leak at the seal. I cannot separate the motor from the pump. It is a JWPAS5F-2A4. Is this a suitable replacement? If so, what is the thread pattern on the pump discharge?

Hello Craig, this unit would be a good replacement for the unit you have. The suction and discharge of this unit are both 1-1/2" Female NPT.

what type of warranty is on the 1.5 hp above ground pool motor. We bought this system from Charles Shuler Pool Company 4/30/2015. this motor should last longer than 16 months.

It has a 1 year warranty on that pump. Pentair is pretty strict on their warranties, but it wouldn't hurt giving them a call to see if they will do anything. And I agree, they should last longer than 16 months.

You recommend model # 340290 to get an on/off switch,but this model is $120 more. Is that the cost of the switch or are there other features different than the 340210?

Don, There are no other features on the switched version other than the switch. The other option would be to purchase a timer or to have the outlet connected to a switch to turn the pump on and off. Otherwise, the pump will run all the time.

Also will this go with a Pentair sd60 sand pump? I have 2” pipes but don’t know the total measurements of the pipes underground. Want to make sure the hp will handle it.?

This model pump was designed for above ground plumbing applications with above ground pools.

I have a model 340210 Pentair Dynamo High Performance pump. The plastic dome cover to the strainer basket has several cracks. I need a way to price and order a replacement. The part leaks water when the pump is off and leaks air when the pump is working.

Hi Kurt, for the Pentair Dynamo series pool pump there are two lid options. The generic part number 25307-000-020 and the original Pentair version part number 5004-14.

Can i buy a pump from you and install it - I am being told a 'professional' must do the install
also my pool has 2 drains in teh center - what are they for and how do i know what does what?

Yes, you can purchase a pool pump from us, some manufacturers do require a professional installation to ensure the manufacturer's warranty is not voided. The two drains in your main pool are more than likely the main drains that suck water into the system.

I have this pump in the 1-1/2 hp model, it’s not being used currently, but wanted to use it to pump water from a shallow well to feed my sprinklers. What kind of pressure can this pump build? The well is about 14’ deep and would have 20’ of horizontal pipe and 3 elbows on the suction side of the pump. Pump is 1-1/2” and on the output side it would reduce to 1” main line to the sprinkler valves and 3/4 pipe from the valves to the sprinkler heads.
