If you are using all sand, it takes 925 lb.  You can also use a mix of 275 lb pea gravel and 650 lb sand.

When should I change the sand in my filter?
 Reply

You should change the sand in your filter every 5-7 years. You can generally tell that it is time if your pool water is not as clear as it normally is or when you notice the interval between backwashes is shorter. You can use > this guide to walk you through it.

Your ad lists a Triton 11 Side mount 45" tank. Below the picture is a a description that states the diameter of the filter is 36.5". What is 36.5 and what is 45"????

Hi Tom, The 45" in the product name refers to the height of the filter. The tank diameter is 36.5", we do see where our product name is confusing, so we have changed the name from 45" tank to 36" tank.

HI, the threading on my filter in witch the bottom drain (2inch) would screw.. is broke. Is there anythyng i can buy or do to fix it? Thank you :)

Hi Mike, if it is actually the tank itself which is damaged then unfortunately there is no permanent solution to fix this and a new filter would be in store.

the 1 1/2" pvc drain cap on the bottom of the filter is screwed on tight but where its screwed onto is moving and leaking. gray threads and a gray nut is moving.

Hi, Steve. You will need to tighten the actual drain plug then hold the drain plug so it doesn't move in order to unscrew the cap.

Where may i get a flow to pressure drop curve? You say the filter operates at 106GMP but at what deltaP? What is the pea gravel to sand ratio you recommend? What does this do the 106 GPM max flow and pressure drop curve? Thanks, Be technical for an engineer.

These filters only state the max GPM rating. The manufacturer does not provide pump curves for filters. Those pump curves are per pumps. Please contact Pentair at 1-800-831-7133 if you need to confirm.

I am using the TR140 and TR60 on a design the filtration flow rates are published in your literature at 106 and 63 GPM. What should I be using for backwash flow rates?
 Reply

A  Answered on 8/2/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Steve. The backwashing flow rate is the same same as the filtration.
