I have an ancient compool cp2000 system, and see that you offer an upgrade kit(pentair 52147). Is this an upgrade that your homeowner customers can install, or is this best left to a professional? If you are mechanically inclined then yes this Compool conversion kit would be a project you should be able to tackle. Does the wireless controler use my home wifi? or is it some other wireless connection? The controller will be located far from the house and may not be able to get a wireless signal.

Hi Paul, The wireless controller shown in the photo does not use a wifi connection, but a wireless transmitter. The range is 500-1000 ft unobstructed. If you want to use the Pentair EasyTouch Wireless 8 Fct Controller you would need to purchase it separately and also the IntelliTouch ScreenLogic Wireless Connection Kit. If you want to use wifi to communicate with the this unit then you would need the Intellitouch iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch Interface Kit and use the mobile app.

My unit is a Compool LX-100 - the wiring diagram says LX-100/LX-100EZ. Nowhere does it say LX-100EZT or LX-100EZTL - will this upgrade kit work, and do I need the transformer?

The 521107 is the upgrade kit without the transformer and the 521247 is with the transformer so if your transformer assembly is getting replaced you would go with the 521247.

You previously answered (to Tony) that the 521247 Compool Upgrade is compatible with an old LX-10 external panel with a CP-2000 internal panel, or at least that is what I understood. Will the internal panel also have to be modified or changed? How about cabling between the external box and the internal panel? Would I be better served to just add n EZ-Touch Remote controller? I plan to have a professional install everything (if I can find one.)

Overall I want to upgrade to a IC60 SWG. I have a compool lx/cp3400.
First do I need to upgrade or does my 3400 have the power center?
Second, if I had to get a power center can I just upgrade with the trasformer and I could connect the IC60 to the Easy touch.
I'm trying to find the cheapest way but most economical way to install the IC60. An upgrade would make since if I don't need the power center with it, but I would love not have to buy eaither and just install it on the compool 3400

I understand if I have the cp3800 I would use the EasyTouch upgrade kit 521107. But what if I want to use the intellichlor IC40. Do I need to add anything else to be able to add the IC40 to my system? Also if I know my pool is less than 20,000 gallons, can I still get the IC40? Its an old pool and we are thinking about making it bigger at some point.

Hi, The CP3800 will use the 521107 upgrade kit and will not require any other part other than the Intellichlor cell. I would recommend the IC40 cell for a 20,000 gallon pool so that way the cell will operate efficiently and give you room to expand.

I have the Compool CP3400 indoor control system. It works, but for some reason it is not communicating with the main control panel outside. My pool repair guy told me I needed to upgrade to the Easy Touch with PDA or logic/wifi. Is this the component I need to replace the outside control panel? I am not sure the difference between the Easy Touch with PDA or logic/wifii. Also, how do I know if I need to get one with the transformer? Is this replacement something that I can do myself?

Hi, David. When upgrading your system you will need to replace the outside interface control kit and indoor control panel. The PDA option is a external remote and the logic/wifi uses a smart device as the remote. Your model control does not require new transformer so you will need p/n 521107. The installation will have to be done by a professional.

Hi I have a 16 yr old pool/spa running with a Compool 3400 mode with SAL/SAM lights I am looking at upgrading my filter to a pentair 420 and a 2hp Intelliflow variable speed. From what everyone has told me the new pump won't work with the compool 3400 thatI currently have. With this upgrade kit made the new equipment run just like it has the past. ie have all the functionality

We just recently purchased a home with a 25,000 gallon pool and hot tub with a shared system Compool Lx3800/CP3800. It has a AO Smith Eplus for the hot tub jets, a Penair Intelliflow vs + svrs for the pool/hot tub filtration, and a Raypak gas heater. I would like to add a salt water chlorinator (possibly IC40) and upgrade control panel so I can control via phone/iPad, etc. It looks like the Pentair is pretty old and doesn't integrate with other home automation systems well. Recommendations?

I am preparing to install the Pentair 521247 Compool to EasyTouch conversion (have CP-2000 and LX-10 system) and have a question. I have identified where the intake, return and solar actuators attach via 3-pin connectors. Also, where the temperature sensors and the RS-485 com cable (for my Intelliflo 011018 filter pump) attach. The four existing relays, filter pump, booster pump, and 2 lights, are connected via screw terminals. The new board has 2-pin connectors for the relays. Solution?

Hi, Nelson. You can use the same wire as the CP100 Indoor Panel to wire the EasyTouch Indoor Controller - 8 Function - 520549 to the new motherboard. The Spa remote will include is own cable, so only that will have to be run through the conduit.

I used the compool easy touch upgrade with transformer kit because the timing cycle on my old system would not work. I have the same problem with the schedule for the pool not turning on and off. I would like to add the remote system but do not want to put anything into this if the basic schedule will not work. The upgrade was supposed to fix this problem.
