Probably not - Most gas heater will shut off at low GPM levels (20-40) to keep the heater cores from overheating - 20 for 200 BTUs, 40 for 400 BTUs. Depending on your pool system you might get these GPM levels at the low speed but generally these heaters must be run at the motor's high speed.

What is the difference between an Electronic and Millivolt ignition?

The basic answer is that Millivolt is the old style of ignition, using a standing pilot light. While the electronic ignition uses a spark start system like a gas grill. Electronic ignitions are more efficient in gas usage and also are better suited for high wind areas where a pilot light might get extinguished.

To know for sure, we would need to know the full model number of your specific heater. This heater is a standard copper heater exchanger which is not compatible with saltwater pools. Only heaters with Cupro-nickel heat exchangers are suitable for saltwater. Check your heater's model number if it ends with a "C" it is copper, if it is an "X" then it is Cupro-nickel. For example, PR366AENC or PR336AENX

For the 266,000 BTU it is 3/4" for gas line runs up to 15', 1" for up to 50' and 1.25" up to 210'. For the 336,000 BTU it is 3/4" for gas line runs up to 10', 1" for up to 30' and 1.25" up to 140'

For U.S. installations, the point from where the flue products exit the heater must be a minimum of 4 ft below, 4 ft horizontally from, or 1 ft above any door, window or gravity inlet into any building. The top surface of the heater shall be at least 3 ft above any forced air inlet, or intake ducts located within 10 ft horizontally

We currently have a RayPaK 266000 btu ng heater. It lasted 10 Years, any value to upgrading to a 336000+ heater? The pool is 18 x 38 and averages 6 ft deep. We are in wisconsin.

The larger the unit the faster the pool will heat.Since the unit is larger and able to heat faster it will turn off quicker. As far as up sizing you would have to review the gas line sizes you currently and see if they will match the specs to the 366k.

Hi, Rob. This size unit is larger than what is required for your pool providing a faster temperature increase. Some states prohibits the installation of millivolt units.

I have an older RayPak natural gas heater model P-R335A-MN, 334,000 BTU, which has been deemed no longer operable. I have a 30' round pool, 25,000 gallons.
